CALL FOR ENTRY: The 14th Annual High Peaks Art Festival will be held June 28-29, in Nederland's Town Square. Artist applications are being accepted through April 7th, the event features a juried art show. Eligible media include ceramics, jewelry, glass, fiber, wearables, sculpture,woodworking, photography,painting and any art form that lends itself to an outdoor display. Exhibitors must have a white 10x10 canopy tent and must be present the entire weekend.
Awards will be presented in 12 categories and each award winning artist receives a cash prize. Our $200 Best of Show award sponsor this year is the Dona Abbott Endowment for the Arts. Dona was an award winning painter who lived in Boulder and was internationally known for her artwork and her love and passion for the arts. She passed away in 2007 after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer. The High Peaks Art Festival is thrilled that her family will be honoring Dona's memory with this award.
Our Featured Artist will be Julie Glassman from Grand Junction, Colorado. This will be Julie's 10th year exhibiting at the Festival with her enamel and silver fine jewelry.
Our Featured Non-Profit will be TEENS,Inc. of Nederland; their booth will highlight their organization and have fun and educational art projects.
