Business Short Takes: Patrice LeBlanc, music education

Posted

Monica LaSalle, Nederland. Originally American Piano Schools, a professional studio in the Denver area, Patrice LeBlanc now gives private lessons at Brightwood Music, at her studio in her home in Central City, as well as at her home in Arvada.

Her teaching background is varied and experienced: from 1995-2005 she had a studio with locations in Wheatridge, Arvada and Broomfield, over a hundred students at each location that was well staffed with lots of instructors and equipped with 3 studios in each location.

At the same time, she created a kids group called Original Kids Tour as a way to not only promote her business but at same time give kids opportunities to perform. This group turned into a performance team for Radio Disney Denver on AM radio that was very popular and successful but eventually it all had to be paired down due to economy.

At this point, Patrice switched to working out of her homes. She teaches all styles, all levels and all ages starting at 5 years old. She offers half hour lessons starting at $30, with some students doing half hour voice and half hour piano. She also offers group lessons for vocals. With experience teaching everything from preschool to college, private schools to charter schools, colleges, choirs as well as running summer camps for over 10 years, Patrice has all the experience anyone could need to make their musical goals or dreams come true.

Her camps this year will be held at Lakewood Cultural Center and Arvada Center, with more information available at lakewood.org or arvadacenter.org. Call 303-421-2243, check out her website at patricelablanc.com where you can find out about private lessons for piano and voice. Patrice also wrote a book called The Fundamental Voice and does videos of the course that can be taken on line and found on her website as well as other online teaching tools like Teachable. She teaches in Nederland at Brightwood Music on Thursdays and Fridays, in Central City on Friday and Saturday mornings, and Arvada on Wednesdays.
