Various businesses across Nederland have seen a spike in their sales since COVID regulations have relaxed. One of those businesses is Nature’s Own, the town’s local rock shop, home to geodes, fossils, crystals, gemstones, jewelry, nature books, and children’s toys.
The staff members of the rock shop were very compliant with CDC guidelines when COVID-19 started increasing in severity. When regulations were first put into place, the business would only allow eight to ten people inside at a time.
Members of staff would carefully count everyone who came in and everyone who walked out in order to make sure they limited the people inside the building. Along with that, the store supplied masks for customers who did not have them and hand sanitizer for those who wanted it.
Cut to June 10, 2021, when Boulder County announced that there were no plans to renew the mandate on face coverings. Since the beginning of summer, business has been booming for the shop again as guidelines have been lifted.
While masks are still encouraged while wandering inside the building, Nature’s Own no longer requires wearing a mask in order to enter. Since the guidelines have relaxed, sales have increased exponentially.
However, there are still aspects of the relaxed guidelines that everyone has to be patient with. Products are shipping to the store more slowly than they usually would. This is most likely because of the high demand as more stores start to open up again and are stocking their stores again.
Despite this lag in shipments, Nature’s Own is excited to get things up and running again. They are just one of the businesses in Nederland that are pleasantly surprised to see a substantial increase in their sales.
You can visit Nature’s Own today and browse their wide variety of fossils, rocks, and educational toys on 5 East 1st Street in Nederland. For more information, visit naturesown.com or call the store at 303-258-3557.
