Brooke Ann Blinebry passed away surrounded by loved ones on April 22, 2026. Her joy in life and ready smile remain in the hearts of her family and friends forever.
Brooke was born on July 29, 1981, in Flagstaff, Arizona. She was the daughter of Edward C. and Cynthia H. Blinebry.
After her father’s passing in 1990, the family moved to Fair Haven, New Jersey, where she continued her education, played softball and began her life-long love of the creative arts. She sewed clothing for friends, journaled her thoughts and wrote poetry and songs while learning the cello, violin, and guitar to compliment her deep love of music.
Forever testing the boundaries of life, Brooke traveled the country from coast to coast in pursuit of adventure and the experiences that unfolded around her. She picked cotton in the deep south, painted sea shells in California, joined the Rainbow Tribe for a time, and tree-sat in the redwood trees to protest deforestation. But according to a letter written to her mother, she achieved her greatest gift in the birth of her daughter, Anastasia.
Brooke settled down in the Portland, Oregon, area for a few years, before moving to Colorado. She pursued many different careers from restaurant and catering work to attendee coordination for events including concerts at Red Rocks.
She believed in a low-waste lifestyle and expanding her love of the creative arts by recycling thrift store items into jewelry and knick-knacks for resale. This passion led her to facilitate an art therapy group utilizing jewelry making as a creative outlet for people struggling with homelessness in Boulder, Colorado.
She will be remembered for her adventurous spirit, sense of humor, spontaneity, and warm smile.
She was predeceased by her father, Edward C. Blinebry; her maternal grandparents, Alexander V.R. and Martha B. Halsey and her paternal grandparents, Charles E. Blinebry and Irene Wheaton.
Surviving are her mother, Cynthia H. Mernick of Oceanport, New Jersey; her sister, Amanda E. Blinebry of Eatontown, New Jersey; her brother, Casey J. Blinebry of Vader, Washington; her daughter, Anastasia J. Blinebry of Wheat Ridge, Colorado; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Also mourning her loss are all those who knew and loved her throughout her short lifetime with a special mention of her loving partner of ten years, Ryan Golletz.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, August 23, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Chipeta Park in Nederland, Colorado.
In honor of her fiercely independent spirit, rebellious heart, and belief that the wild belongs to everyone, donations may be made to the Wilderness Land Trust.
