Bristlecone Bookshop

Posted

NEDERLAND — Bristlecone Bookshop is a new independent mountain community bookstore, featuring a large mural and lots of original artwork, including almost everything from postcards to socks and stickers to patches by local artists Meg Viola Fox, Kathy Bremers, Leah Simmons DeCapio, and many others.

A total of seven artists’ work was chosen for their shared deep love of nature and books, as well as mountains and animals. These are on display at Bristlecone. In the future, Bristlecone looks forward to hosting events and learning what community members are reading.

Residents and visitors are welcome to join some of their ongoing events, such as book clubs and themed days like Bookstore Romance Day on Saturday, August 15, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Bristlecone is a bookstore that welcomes artists of all genres, including muralists, writers, graphic designers, sewists, illustrators, and makers. The bookstore isn't just a place of commerce; it's a declaration that creativity belongs in every form.

At Bristlecone, books may begin the story, but art allows it to continue. Each medium offers another way for imagination to be shared. In a mountain town like Nederland, where inspiration flows as freely as the rivers, stories rarely stay on the page.

Bristlecone Bookshop is at 114 E Second Street, Nederland, CO 80466. You can call Annah at 207-210-0093 or Meg at 630-827-9597. You can find them on Instagram at instagram.com/bristleconebookshop or visit bristleconebookshop.com to learn more.
