Boulder woman found deceased in creek

Early Tuesday morning, March 13, about 7:20 a.m., a woman walking her dog near the Weir Bridge next to the Teen Center found the body of a woman, deceased, face down, in the creek.
According to the Boulder County Coroner's Office, the body found near the 100 block of East Street in Nederland has been identified as 35-year-old Sarah Elizabeth Gewald of Boulder.
Representatives from the Nederland Police Department, Boulder County Sheriff's Office and Boulder County Coroner's Office investigated the death. The area was closed to the public on Tuesday morning, and Chinook West students were not allowed to leave the building while the investigation was taking place.
An autopsy was performd Tuesday afternoon. The manner and cause of death are pending further investigation.
