On 5/1/22 at about 1:34 a.m. a BHPD officer was dispatched to a theft of a cell phone at the Golden Gates Casino on 261 Main Street. A suspect was identified and is pending arrest.

On 5/1/22 at about 1:34 a.m. a BHPD officer was dispatched to a theft of a cell phone at the Golden Gates Casino on 261 Main Street. A suspect was identified and is pending arrest.

On 5/1/22 BHPD officers were dispatched to a male who passed a counterfeit $20.00 bill. The suspect was contacted and he was found to have a felony warrant out of the Denver Sheriff’s Office. When the suspect was attempted to be placed under arrest, the suspect resisted officers and would not comply. He was arrested without incident and transported to the jail where he was booked in on the warrant and released on a summons for resisting arrest.

On 5/2/22 a BHPD officer was patrolling the Lady Luck parking garage and conducted a welfare check of a male passed out in the passenger seat. The male party had warrants and was transported to Gilpin County Jail.

On 5/2/22 a BHPD officer received a phone report from a party who stated his phone was stolen on 5/1/22 at approximately 4:00 a.m. The phone was last tracked to an address in Aurora Colorado. Surveillance was contacted for a review and a report was taken.

On 5/2/22 a BHPD officer took a report from Hertz rental of DIA stating they received a vehicle back missing the front and rear plate. The renter does not know exactly where or when the plates were stolen. A suspect was not identified and a report was taken.

On 5/3/22 an officer responded to the AmeriStar parking garage on a complaint of a dog left in a vehicle. Officers responded and two parties associated were contacted and found to have warrants. Both parties were transported to the jail and the dog was left in the care of a friend.

On 5/4/22 a party contacted BHPD regarding another party that was claiming to have taken pills to attempt to commit suicide. The suicidal party was located in Gilpin County and the incident was referred to the Gilpin County Sheriff’s Office for further investigation.

On 5/5/22 a BHPD detective was assigned to investigate a suspicious incident at the Monarch Casino and Hotel on 488 Main Street. One employee (suspect) was concerned about another employee in the restroom and used a cell phone to record the employee masturbating in the bathroom stall. The video was sent to the employee’s supervisor by the suspect. The suspect received a summons for Invasion of Privacy. Both employees were terminated by the Monarch Casino.

On 5/6/22 BHPD was called to the Isle Casino on a report of a disturbance. A male and female party were contacted. After an investigation, the male party was arrested for Harassment and Domestic Violence related charges. The male party was transported to the Gilpin County Jail.

On 5/7/22 at approximately 6:38 a.m. BHPD was dispatched to the area of the Gilpin Casino on 111 Main Street on a report of a male attempting to sell the reporting party drugs. The suspect was contacted leaving the area in his vehicle and subsequently arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession with the Intent to Distribute, and Possession of a Firearm by a Previous Offender.

On 5/8/22 BHPD officers were dispatched to the Ameristar Casino on 111 Richman Street on a report of a trespass. The suspect was issued a summons and released.

On 5/8/22 BHPD officers were informed by Colorado Division of Gaming Investigators they were looking for a person at the Monarch Casino on a gaming violation. BHPD officers learned the suspect had two warrants for his arrest with one being a felony. BHPD officers located the suspect at the Ameristar Casino and took him into custody.

On 5/9/22 Ameristar Casino’s security supervisor called about a trailer that had parked in the Avenue of Allstars parking lot on 111 Richman Street was stolen. Surveillance was reviewed back to the last date and time possible and it was determined the trailer was stolen before 4/24/2022. No suspects at this time.

On 5/9/22 BHPD officers assisted the Broomfield Police Department with a missing person out of their city since the person was known to be in Black Hawk on 5/7/2022. This case is under investigation by the Broomfield Police Department.

On 5/10/22 an officer reported to level 6 of the Monarch Casino parking garage on 488 Main Street in reference to an employee’s damaged vehicle. The suspect of the hit and run was contacted and advised to retrieve his summons at the Black Hawk Police Department.

On 5/10/22 an officer received a phone report of stolen vehicle parts from the Lady Luck garage on 333 Main Street. A report was taken.

On 5/12/22 a BHPD officer responded to the AmeriStar Casino in reference to a disturbance in a hotel room between a male and a female. It was determined that the female bit the male and the female was transported to the jail on charges related to domestic violence.

On 5/11/22 at approximately 3:53 p.m. officers were dispatched to the Isle Casino on 401 Main Street on the report of an assault between 2 males. The suspect attempted to flee the scene and leave property. Officers made contact with the suspect who admitted to punching the other male several times because he disrespected him. The victim had contusions, cuts, and bruises but refused medical transport. The suspect was arrested and transported to the Gilpin County Jail on charges of Assault in the 3rd degree.

On 5/12/22 BHPD officers were dispatched to the Ameristar Casino on 111 Richman Street for items left in a hotel room that were located by housekeeping. The located items are possibly associated with thefts from mailboxes in Hayden, CO. The case is under investigation.

On 5/12/22 BHPD officers were dispatched to the Ameristar Casino on a report of a Domestic Violence Assault. The parties involved are known to BHPD Officers from a prior DV arrest this year. The suspect was arrested and taken to jail on new charges.

On 5/14/22 a female party called the BHPD from the Ameristar Casino to report that her boyfriend was cold to the touch, stiff, and would not wake up. The Black Hawk Police Department, Gilpin County Ambulance, and Black Hawk Fire Department responded. An adult male was pronounced deceased and was turned over to the Gilpin County Coroner’s Office. An investigation was conducted.

On 5/16/22 a BHPD officer conducted a welfare check on a female party sleeping in a running vehicle. The female party was later arrested and transported to Gilpin County Jail for possession of a stolen vehicle and a controlled substance.

On 5/16/22 the Gilpin Ambulance, Black Hawk Fire Department, and BHPD responded to an unconscious and not breathing person who was having a possible overdose in the parking garage of the Monarch Casino. A BHPD officer arrived and found the person did not have a pulse so administered Narcan and after a short time the person was breathing and had a pulse. The person was transported to the hospital.

On 5/17/22 a BHPD officer was conducting a routine patrol and observed a suspicious party sitting in front of 200 Gregory Street. The officer contacted the individual and they stated that they have a warrant and were in possession of narcotics. The party was transported to the police department, issued a summons, and transported to the hospital via ambulance.

On 5/17/22 a BHPD officer responded to the Monarch Casino on the report of an assault. Dispatch advised that the suspect had left the parking garage driving southbound on Main Street. The vehicle was contacted in the south parking lot and the suspect advised that he had been assaulted. The officer reported to surveillance and observed the incident. The reporting party and the initial suspect were found to be responsible for two separate incidents. Neither party wanted to pursue charges.

On 5/18/22 officers responded to the Monarch Casino on the report of a physical fight. A male and female ran before police arrived and were later contacted in a stairwell. An investigation determined the male and female broke into a vehicle and were confronted by the owners. The male and female were each issued summons and released.

On 5/20/22 at approximately 11:58 a.m. an officer responded to the Monarch Casino Restaurant on 488 Main Streer on a report of a theft of food.

On 5/20/22 a female party called the BHPD to report a possible sexual assault that occurred in November of 2021 at the Isle Casino. A report was taken and the incident will be investigated further.

On 5/21/22 officers responded to the Lady Luck Hotel to the report of a male trapped in an elevator who was damaging the elevator. The Lady Luck Casino security manager decided to handle the call civilly, and not press charges.

On 5/21/22 the BHPD responded to the Ameristar Casino on a report of an unpaid taxi fare. A male party was contacted and released on a municipal summons.

On 5/22/22 officers were dispatched to an intoxicated person refusing to leave the Ameristar Casino. The person was arrested for resisting arrest and trespassing.

On 5/26/22 BHPD officers responded to a report of a theft of a catalytic converter from a vehicle parked in the Isle Casino Parking Garage. There is currently no suspect information in this case.

On 5/27/22 the BHPD responded to the Wild Card Casino on 120 Main Street on a possible counterfeit $100 bill. The $100 bill was seized and booked into evidence.

On 5/29/22 BHPD officers responded to 111 Richman Street on a public disturbance in progress. Neither party involved wanted to pursue charges.

On 5/29/22 at approximately 6:18 p.m. a female called the BHPD to advise she lost her phone somewhere in the city of Black Hawk. She was traveling to multiple casinos and last saw it at the Ameristar Casino on 111 Richman Street but noticed it missing at the Monarch Casino on 488 Main Street. It was tracked through the “Find My Phone” app and it was traveling down Highway 119. A suspect was not identified and we were unable to determine where the phone was lost.

On 5/30/22 an officer responded to the parking garage of the Saratoga Casino on the report of theft of property. Officer McCallum was advised that a $500 grease gun was removed from the bed of a patrons pickup. Surveillance located the suspect opening the pickup truck’s camper shell at 11:59 p.m., removing a large item and returning to their vehicle. Suspects have yet to be identified and license plates were unreadable. The case is ongoing.

On 5/30/22 officers were dispatched to a suspicious incident where a person reported being struck by an unknown object thrown from the second floor while they were on the first floor. Surveillance located the suspect and both parties were found to be related. A female suspect was issued a summons for unlawful possession of a controlled substance.

On 5/31/22 a BHPD officer responded to the Monarch Casino on the report of a theft. The victim was interviewed regarding his wallet and he advised he had $1000 cash. The victim did receive $1000 prior to his wallet being stolen. The suspect was located at the Isle Casino and served a municipal summons. The wallet was not recovered.

On 5/31/22 a BHPD officer was at the Monarch Casino when two parties set off the fire alarm. Those parties were later observed and contacted at the AmeriStar Casino. The male party had two warrants and was taken into custody. Upon searching the suspect before arrest, multiple identification documents belonging to others and drug paraphernalia were found. The male party was transported to jail on the warrants and pending new charges.

On 5/31/22 at approximately 2:10 p.m. an officer responded to the Ameristar Casino on 111 Richman Street, room 3014, to recover a found gun. The party who was last registered to the room was contacted and they advised that the gun was not theirs. It is unknown who the weapon belongs to or how long the weapon has been in the room.

On 5/31/22 at approximately 6:07 p.m. BHPD responded to the Monarch Casino on 488 Main Street to assist a female party possibly needing assistance with her vehicle. Officers spoke with the party who requested assistance and determined she was having a psychiatric medical emergency. The party was transported to the hospital on an involuntary mental health hold.
