Black Hawk Police reports: June 2022

On 6/1/22, at 4:50 a.m. a Black Hawk police officer spotted a criminal trespass occurrence at The Isle parking garage on 401 Main Street. There is no surveillance of the area and no suspect information.

On 6/6/22, a Black Hawk police officer reported a lost phone from a Monarch Casino employee at 488 Main Street. No suspect/s has been identified yet.

On 6/6/22, a Black Hawk police officer responded to a property damage issue at The Isle parking garage on 401 Main Street. A report was taken.

On 6/7/22, at approximately 11 a.m. an officer responded to the Gilpin County Ambulance Authority medics. They reported that their laptop was stolen from The Isle Casino during a call at The Isle, located at 401 Main Street. Surveillance backtracked the suspect who took the laptop and left the city. Officers later made contact with the subject in Littleton and Black Hawk officers went and picked him up. The laptop was returned and the suspect was booked and released pending charges.

On 6/8/22, Colorado State Patrol (CSP) requested assistance locating an eluding suspect. The driver of the vehicle was later contacted at the Ameristar Casino and a Black Hawk police officer detained the driver while CSP conducted their investigation.

On 6/8/22, at approximately 11:35 a.m., officers observed a black SUV going south on Main Street bearing a Colorado plate. The plate did not match the vehicle it was on and officers conducted a traffic stop. The license plate was seized and a proof of service was issued to a passenger in the vehicle. The driver was known to the officer and so was the owner of the vehicle and the fictitious plate. The driver was issued a warning.

On 6/7/22, an officer responded to the Sasquatch Casino, located at 125 Gregory Street for a reported burglary incident. A report was taken.

On 6/9/22, an officer took a report of stolen property which was stolen on 6/4/22 from the Monarch Hotel, located at 488 Main Street.

On 6/9/22, an officer took a report of stolen property which was stolen on 6/8/22 from the Dakota parking lot, located at 245 Main Street.

On 6/9/22, an officer responded to the Monarch Casino on the report of a counterfeit bill being cashed at the main cage. A counterfeit one hundred dollar bill was confiscated.

On 6/10/22, an officer responded to Black Hawk Street and Highway 119 on the report of an accident involving two vehicles. One suspect was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and or drugs and was transported to the Gilpin County Jail.

On 6/10/22, an officer responded to a reported damaged vehicle. The man reporting the incident believed the damage was caused by a woman against whom he has a restraining order. The man reported that the damage occurred earlier that day at the Monarch Casino. A report was taken.

On 6/10/22, an officer seized found drugs from the Monarch Casino located at 488 Main Street.

On 6/11/22, the Black Hawk Police Department was dispatched to the Lady Luck parking garage on a report of trespassing. The female party was contacted and issued a summons and released on scene without incident.

On 6/12/22, at 10:53 p.m. an officer stopped a vehicle in an attempt to locate at 488 Main Street. The vehicle was impounded and one occupant was charged with possession of a controlled substance.

On 6/12/22, the Black Hawk Police Department responded to 340 Main Street on a Hit and Run incident. A suspect was not identified due to a lack of surveillance.

On 6/13/22, an officer responded to a report of a Hit and Run at the KMM parking garage located at 255 Main Street. The officer later learned that the driver did contact casino staff and was misinformed by the staff. The officer has been in contact with the driver of the vehicle and will be providing insurance information to the owner of the damaged vehicle. Nothing criminal was reported.

On 6/13/22, a detective took the telephone report of a possible sexual assault on a child, which had occurred in November of 2020 at the Ameristar Casino. There is suspect information.

On 6/13/22, an officer responded to the Ameristar Hotel and Casino in regards to property damage and an intoxicated party. The incident was reported and documented.

On 6/14/22, an officer at the Monarch Casino was approached by a patron reporting a stolen iPhone. The iPhone was tracked leaving the Monarch Casino and later stopped in Arvada, Colorado. The vehicle that left with the iPhone was identified and the registered owner that her sister had taken the phone. The registered owner of the vehicle would not provide information and confirmed she knew the phone was taken. The iPhone was later returned to the Monarch Casino and an arrest warrant was submitted.

On 6/14/22 at approximately 8:36 a.m., officers were dispatched to the Wild Card Casino on a report of theft. The victim was contacted and a report has been taken.

On 6/14/22, officers responded to Ameristar Casino in regards to harassment. A report was taken and a summons was issued.

On 6/14/22 an officer took a phone report of a welfare check regarding a female concerned for her safety. The female advised the officer that she was in a verbal argument with a male that she visited Black Hawk with. They were driving in a car down the mountains. The female requested a welfare check call within an hour because she feared the male would not drive her home. After numerous phone calls with no response, Aurora PD was sent to the female’s last known home address, and Aurora PD was able to contact the female in person. Aurora PD advised Black Hawk communications that the female was okay and no crime had occurred. No crime was committed while the female was in the City of Black Hawk.

On 6/15/22, an officer was called to the scene by the Black Hawk Fire Department. The call was made due to the party jumping the curb to access the Rambling buses wheelchair ramp. The party was intoxicated and his wheelchair fell over on the ramp, causing the party to hit his head on the roadway. The scene was documented and the party refused to sign any release of medical documentation prior to being transported to St. Anthony Hospital.

On 6/15/22, a non-injury accident occurred in the parking lot of the Black Hawk Police Department. The information was taken for the report.

On 6/16/22, an officer responded to the Monarch Casino on a report of a party trying to claim a lost wallet containing a fake identification card. It was later determined that the male party had used the identification to gamble and receive alcohol. The investigation was turned over to the Colorado Division of Gaming.

On 6/16/22, an officer assisted the Colorado Department of Gaming at the Saratoga Casino which resulted in a warrant arrest.

On 6/16/22, the BHPD responded to an address in Central City to assist the Gilpin County Sheriff’s Office with a female party who was reported to be suicidal. The party was contacted and transported to the hospital for treatment.

On 6/16/22, an officer observed a male party urinating on the walkway on the southwest side of the Saratoga Casino along the half-wall. Upon contact, the party was found to have multiple warrants and was transported to jail.

On 6/17/22, an officer responded to an intoxicated person. The person was issued a summons and transported by ambulance.

On 6/17/22 at 3:51 p.m., an officer responded to a theft at the Lodge Casino at 240 Main Street. The suspect was arrested.

On 6/17/22, an officer responded to the Isle Casino on the report of a fake identification being used to attempt to gain access to the casino. The fake identification was confiscated and booked for destruction.

On 6/18/22, BHPD officers responded to the Ameristar Casino on the report of a physical disturbance between two male parties. One suspect was arrested and jailed for 3rd Degree Assault.

On 6/18/22 at approximately 10:43 a.m., an officer responded to the Ameristar Casino on a report of a physical fight.

On 6/18/22, the BHPD responded to the Isle Casino on a report of a firearm found in a hotel room by housekeeping staff. The firearm was taken for safekeeping and the owner was contacted.

On 6/18/22, an officer responded to the Ameristar Casino on the report of found property. A small 22 caliber revolver was booked to be returned to its owner.

On 6/19/22, an officer responded to the Ameristar Casino on the report of physical disturbance between a male and female. A female suspect was arrested for harassment DV.

On 6/19/22 at approximately 2:06 p.m., an officer responded to a party that fell in the street on 340 Main Street. The party is suspected to have fallen due to a prior medical emergency. An officer responded and took a report. No injuries were seen.

On 6/19/22, an officer responded to the Saratoga Casino on the report of a firearm being found in the women’s bathroom. The firearm was collected and no record was located. The firearm was booked into evidence as found property.

On 6/19/22, officers responded to the Saratoga Casino on a report of an intoxicated male party in possession of a weapon at the gazebo. The male party was arrested and was issued Gilpin County Summons number 10196 for prohibited use of weapons.

On 6/20/22, an officer was on a call at the Ameristar Casino when staff advised a patrons’ wallet had been stolen. The officer observed video surveillance, located the suspect, and advised the suspect to return the wallet. The victim did not wish to pursue any legal action and the wallet was returned to the owner.

On 6/20/22 at approximately 12:43 p.m., officers were dispatched to a traffic accident that occurred at the Lady Luck Parking Lot. The male party on scene was issued a summons.

On 6/20/22, an officer responded to the Lodge Casino in reference to a female requesting law enforcement. The female advised a male in a van was masturbating in his vehicle with the window down. The van was located and surveillance tracked the male party, which matched the females’ description. The male was taken into custody and transported to jail for indecent exposure.

On 6/21/22, an officer responded to Isle Casino on a report of a male party that was assaulted and had his cell phone taken from him. The male party advised that a friend of a friend pushed him to the ground and took his phone.

On 6/21/22, officers responded to 111 Richman Street, the Ameristar Casino, for a suspect with a warrant. The suspect was arrested and transported to the Gilpin County Jail for the warrants.

On 6/22/22, officers were dispatched to the Black Hawk Public Works Building in regards to property damage. The property damage was photographed and a report taken.

On 6/23/22, an officer responded to the Monarch Casino on a report of found drugs. No suspect has been identified. A report was taken, and the drugs were seized.

On 6/23/22, an officer responded to the Monarch Casino on counterfeit bills being passed at a blackjack table. A female suspect was contacted and was unaware the bills were fake. The bills were seized and booked into evidence.

On 6/24/22, a woman called the BHPD to report that she had lost her wallet with her identification inside while she was in Black Hawk. A report was taken.

On 6/25/22, an officer responded to 240 Main Street on a cold report of a male drawing graffiti on the casino property. Surveillance video was reviewed and a suspect was found but not identified at this time. This case will remain open for further investigation.

On 6/25/22, an officer responded to the Lady Luck Hotel to assist a female party in a situation involving sexual assault.

On 6/25/22, an officer responded to a report of a young child in distress and unattended at the Ameristar Casino. The child’s mother was located and reunited with the child. A report was taken.

On 6/26/22, officers were dispatched to the 100 block of Marchant on a report of a suspicious party. The male party was contacted and it was determined that no crime had occurred.

On 6/26/22, officers responded to the Ameristar Hotel in regards to a theft. A report was taken.

On 6/28/22, an officer found a car parked on level 3 of the Isle parking garage at 401 Main Street. The car had no license plates and a sun visor was covering the front window and VIN plate. The ignition was missing and drug paraphernalia was visible from the outside of the vehicle. The door was opened to obtain the VIN number and it came back as a stolen vehicle out of Adams County. The owner picked up the vehicle and drove it home. A firearm and knife were still missing from the vehicle.

On 6/28/22, BHPD assisted Gilpin County Sheriff’s Office on a report of a possible assault in progress in a vehicle driving southbound on Highway 119. One of the females was arrested on an outstanding warrant.

On 6/28/22, an officer responded to the KMM parking garage on a report of a theft. The victim had tools unsecured in his truck bed and two items were stolen. A suspect vehicle was located, however, it was later determined the suspect vehicle had stolen plates. Surveillance is currently tracking the male suspect in an attempt to identify him. The case will remain open for further investigation.

On 6/29/22, an officer responded to Bally’s North on a report of a suspicious male in the KMM garage pulling door handles on different vehicles. A male was contacted by Bally’s North Security and was taken into the security room. Security issued the male a trespass warning.

On 6/29/22, an officer responded to Ameristar Casino on a report of a found purse containing drug paraphernalia and a small bag with a white substance in it. No person/s of interest has been associated with this found property. The property has been booked into evidence for destruction.

On 6/30/22, an officer responded to the Wild Card Casino on a report of a disturbance. The male parties involved were identified and contacted. One party was issued a summons for harassment. A report has been taken.

On 6/30/22, the BHPD responded to the Monarch Casino on a welfare check for a woman that reported she had been hit by a vehicle at an earlier time in the parking garage of the Monarch. Surveillance confirmed the vehicle did not hit the female. EMS evaluated and cleared the female. The female informed the officer that she would go to the hospital after she was done eating dinner at the casino. The female did not want to take further action as she had already spoken with the driver. She provided her information to her, and the driver of the vehicle was identified.
