On 7/1/22, an officer was dispatched to Crooks Palace on a report of found property. The property has been booked into safekeeping to be released back to the owner.
On 7/2/22, officers were dispatched to the KMM parking garage in regards to harassment. A report was taken.
On 7/2/22, an officer responded to the Lady Luck Casino on the report of damaged property. The suspect and the casino manager resolved the issue civilly.
On 7/3/22, an officer responded to the Monarch Casino on a report of an employee being harassed by a casino guest. The person of interest was contacted and the case is under investigation.
On 7/4/22, an officer responded to the Lodge Casino after staff advised they found a wallet containing a white powder. The suspect left the casino while officers were responding and was not located. The wallet and powder were booked into evidence. There is only identification from Mexico, and no additional information on the suspect was available.
On 7/4/22, the Monarch Casino advised an officer of a threat that was made at one of their table games. Information on the suspect was found with a player’s card and a vehicle was located with video footage. The suspect left the casino before he could be contacted. At this time, there are no known victims and the threats don’t arise to a criminal level.
On 7/5/22, an officer responded to a report on the theft of a bicycle. The victim did not have information to give about the suspect. A vehicle matching the description the victim gave was located on surveillance, but did not have license plates on either side. There was no possible identification of the suspect. Surveillance was inconclusive. At this time there are no further leads.
On 7/6/22, an officer responded to the Monarch Casino on a theft of a cell phone report. The person of interest was not on scene upon arrival. The case is still active.
On 7/6/22, an officer responded to an enraged driver involved in a non-injury crash on Highway 119. Officers had to restrain the party who was enraged by placing him in handcuffs. It was determined that the party who was handcuffed was driving aggressively and tried to pass another car just prior to the two lane split. The driver of the other vehicle was not expecting someone beside him as he tried to occupy the lane and hit the male party’s truck. While he was in handcuffs he began making racial slurs at the Asian American male driving the other vehicle and berating officers. He was issued a summons for careless driving and passing on the left in an unsafe manner. He refused to sign any tickets or give any information regarding his address, phone number, etc. All the information had to be obtained through in-house records.
On 7/6/22, an officer responded to the Monarch Casino on a theft report. The reporting party went to the male restroom by Monarch’s Poker Room with his tote bag. The tote bag contained Tupperware, a silver coffee mug, and $2,000 in denominations of $100. He then came out of the restroom without the tote bag. The person of interest has not been located yet. This case is still active.
On 7/7/22, officers were dispatched to the Wild Card Casino on a report of a male party exposing himself to a female party. The male party was issued a summons and was released to medical.
On 7/8/22, officers were conducting a License Plate Reader in the Monarch parking garage when they noticed a suspicious vehicle. Officers approached the vehicle when suddenly the vehicle took off. An arrest was made and documented.
On 7/9/22, offices responded to the Ameristar Casino on the report of a physical disturbance. The female was uncooperative, wouldn’t identify the male, and didn’t want to pursue charges. The male didn’t respond to attempts to contact him. No charges were filed.
On 7/9/22, officers were dispatched to the Monarch Casino on a report of a male party unconscious and unknown of breathing. CPR was in process and first responders were able to transport the male party to a Flight for Life helicopter.
On 7/10/22, an officer responded to the Ameristar Casino on the report of a disturbance between a male and female party. It was discovered that the male party had two active warrants out of Denver. The male party was taken into custody and transported to the Gilpin County Jail for booking.
On 7/10/22, officers responded to the Ameristar Casino on the report of a physical disturbance in progress in a hotel room. Upon arrival, officers could hear a disturbance inside the room. Both parties were stating nothing physical occurred despite the female showing new and old signs of being in a fight with injuries. She claimed all injuries were old and not made from today’s incident. The female had a restraining order restraining her from making contact with the male party. She was arrested for that protection order violation. After she was in custody, the female stated what really occurred in today’s disturbance. She stated she was strangled and held down. The male was located and was found to be in possession of multiple credit cards and checks that did not belong to him. He claimed the female put them in his laptop bag. He also claimed he did not choke or strike the female. The male was booked on felony assault charges and pending other charges.
On 7/11/22, officers responded to the Ameristar Casino for an Identification Verification. Upon arrival, officers contacted a female party posing as someone else to gain entry into the premises. The party was issued a Gilpin County summons, and the female party left the premises.
On 7/12/22, officers assisted the Colorado Department of Gaming (CDOG) on a call of a minor on the gaming floor. CDOG determined the charges for the guardian of the minor. Officers transported the adult party to the Gilpin County Jail and CPS took custody of the minor.
ON 7/12/22, officers responded to level 7 of the Monarch parking garage on the report of a hit and run crash that occurred the night prior. A suspect vehicle was identified but not a driver. A report was taken.
On 7/13/22, an officer responded to a flooded hotel room and hallway at the Ameristar Hotel located at 111 Richman Street.
On 7/14/22, an officer responded to Ameristar Casino’s surveillance on a damaged property report. Upon the officer’s arrival, Ameristar Casino staff advised him that the person of interest was nowhere on the Casino’s property. Ameristar Casino staff stated that the person of interest had been identified using his player’s card information. This case is active.
On 7/14/22, officers responded to the Monarch Casino parking garage in regards to an intoxicated party. An arrest was made and documented
On 7/15/22, officers were waved down by a female driver. The female driver informed officers that there was a vehicle driving erratically, and parked at the Isle parking garage. Officers conducted an area check of the parking garage. Officers located the reported vehicle with male and female occupants in it. Upon further investigation, Officers found out the male party was the restrained party in a protection order against the female party in the vehicle.
On 7/15/22, officers received a call about a male party coming to the Monarch Casino that was armed and was threatening to shoot people during an event. Officers investigated who the male party was and attempted to locate the male party. Officers reported the threats to the local law enforcement agency where the male party lives. The male party was placed in custody by his probation officer in New Mexico.
On 7/16/22, an officer responded to the Ameristar Casino on a report of a fight in the hotel. One party was issued a summons for the fight.
On 7/17/22, an officer responded to the Grand Z Casino in Central City to assist Gilpin County Deputies. A deputy had a female in custody and requested Black Hawk officers conduct a search incident to arrest. The officer conducted the search and stood by until deputies cleared the scene.
On 7/18/22, an officer responded to the Ameristar Casino referencing a female party stealing items from an exhibit in the event center. Multiple parties were contacted that received stolen goods from said female. The female was later located and issued a Municipal Summons.
On 7/18/22, an officer responded to the parking lot near the former Canyon Casino on 131 Main Street on the report of three parties smoking a crack pipe in the vehicle. Officers arrived on scene and contacted four males inside a Tesla. All parties denied smoking from a crack pipe. An officer observed surveillance footage and confirmed a glass pipe was smoked from. The two males from the surveillance footage were later contacted in the Tesla at the Ameristar Casino parking garage and were served a summons for drug paraphernalia.
On 7/19/22, an officer responded to a call of verbal disturbance that had been going on for some time at the Ameristar Casino. While en route, dispatch advised the argument had become physical. The officer arrived on scene and surveillance advised the male party had hit the female before the female slapped the male. Surveillance was observed and found it was not clear due to the view inside the vehicle. The male party was intoxicated and served a summons for violating a protection order for consuming alcohol.
On 7/19/22, an officer responded to the Ameristar Casino after an employee received an anonymous phone call of a bomb threat. Gilpin County Officers and Colorado State Patrol Officers arrived at the Ameristar Casino and assisted in conducting a sweep of the hotel floors and parking garage. No threats were found and there are no leads available to who the unknown female is that had called in the bomb threat.
On 7/20/22, an officer contacted a vehicle and advised the driver of his canceled driver’s license. The party was told not to drive and dispatch aired the driver had left the parking lot headed southbound on Highway 119. The officer observed the vehicle on Highway 119 at Gregory Street and initiated a traffic stop. The vehicle failed to yield as the driver later stated he was trying to park in the Ameristar Casino parking garage. The driver was issued a summons on multiple traffic infractions and the vehicle was towed.
On 7/21/22, an officer responded to the Monarch Casino on a report of a terminated employee accessing the employee cafeteria. Officers responded to the scene and confirmed the terminated employee is the same individual that has been contacted by numerous officers in the last two days. The female displayed signs that she no longer knew the day and referred to her property as evidence. The female was placed on a mental health hold and was transported by the Gilpin Ambulance.
On 7/22/22, officers responded to an intoxicated party walking southbound in the middle of Highway 119. A report was taken and a person was transported to the hospital.
On 7/22/22, an officer was dispatched to the Horseshoe Casino for found drugs. The drugs were taken into custody and booked for destruction. There was surveillance of a suspect.
On 7/23/22, an officer responded to the Red Dolly on a report of a male party sleeping in a vehicle. The party took off at a high rate of speed when he was woken up.
On 7/24/22, an officer responded to the Horseshoe Casino on a lost property report. Upon the officer’s arrival, he contacted a female party who informed him that she couldn’t find the $1,000 she withdrew from the ATM. No persons of interest have been identified at the moment.
On 7/24/22, Ameristar Casino security asked for assistance with an intoxicated guest. Police contacted the male and he refused medical assistance. He was advised not to drive his vehicle. A short time later, the male was seen driving his vehicle in the parking garage and was contacted by BHPD. The male was arrested for DUI and lodged at the jail for his third DUI-related offense.
On 7/26/22, officers responded to 100 block of Main Street on a verbal disturbance call. One female party was arrested on Municipal Warrant originating out of Black Hawk.
On 7/27/22, officers received a report of a possibly intoxicated party walking and getting into a Blue Toyota 4Runner. Officers contacted a male party sitting in the vehicle. The party was asked to step out and they became agitated. The male party was transported to the BHPD and was given a summons. He was then released.
On 7/27/22, an officer stopped a vehicle on a traffic stop. The driver gave a false name. When the correct name was identified, it was learned that the driver had a felony and a misdemeanor warrant for his arrest. The suspect was transported to the hospital for unrelated injuries and issued a summons.
On 7/28/22, an officer witnessed a suspicious vehicle parked in Rimrock Parking Lot. Upon contact, the female party was in violation of a protection order, and was taken into custody and booked into Gilpin County Jail.
On 7/28/22, officers responded to the Ameristar Casino on a report of a verbal altercation that had turned physical, but was no longer in progress. Officers were informed by the involved parties and casino staff that nothing physical had occurred, only verbal. Staff and family members were able to intervene before it escalated. All involved parties advised it was a family misunderstanding.
On 7/29/22, an officer responded to the Ameristar Casino Hotel in regards to a domestic violence incident. An arrest was made and a report was taken.
On 7/29/22, officers were notified of an intoxicated party that would not leave the Monarch Hotel. The male was contacted and escorted off the property. No charges were filed.
On 7/30/22, officers responded to the Lady Luck Casino in regards to found drugs. A summons was issued and a report was taken.
On 7/30/22, officers responded to a REDDI report from the Lodge Casino in regards to an intoxicated party driving away from the Dakota Lot. A summons was issued and a report was taken.
On 7/30/22, an officer was dispatched to assist a fire with three fire alarm activations. One female party was issued a summons and was arrested by the Gilpin County Sheriff’s Office on unrelated charges.
On 7/31/22, officers contacted a female suspect at the Ameristar Casino garage. The female had attempted to use another person’s ID to enter the casino. Police were called and found her hiding in her vehicle. The female had a concealed handgun in her backpack, along with several controlled substances. She was arrested. Her vehicle was searched and additional controlled substances were found, along with three electronic devices that are used by mechanics to reset key fobs. These devices are also used by criminals to facilitate motor vehicle thefts. The female was held at the Gilpin County Jail on numerous criminal charges. A male acquaintance of the female suspect was located and found to be in possession of a controlled substance. The male was released on a County Summons.
On 7/31/22, officers responded to a motorcycle crash in the 200 block of Gregory Street. A male was found down in the parking lot and was transported emergent to the hospital for the numerous injuries he received. The male was issued a summons for DUI, Careless Driving, and Drove Vehicle Without Proper Class of Driver’s License.
On 7/31/22, an officer responded to Horseshoe Casino for an identification check verification. Upon arrival, the officer was advised that the male party who presented the fake US employment authorization card had fled the scene. The officer confiscated the card and cleared the scene. The employment authorization card had been booked into evidence.
