On 2/1/22 at 8:50 a.m., Black Hawk Police Department (BHPD) responded to the Ameristar parking garage on 111 Richman Street for a hit and run incident. Officers took a report but no arrests were made.
On 2/1/22 at 9:15 a.m., a BHPD officer received a request to attempt to locate a missing adult reported out of Denver. With the assistance of the Monarch Casino Surveillance the missing adult was located in the parking garage. He was found to not be in distress or in need of mental health assistance. Denver Police were notified as well as the missing adult’s family.
On 2/2/22, BHPD officers assisted the Colorado Division of Gaming with locating a subject who resisted arrest and fled from the Isle Casino on 401 Main Street. The subject was located and transported to the jail.
On 2/3/22, an officer saw a suspicious vehicle inside the Lady Luck parking garage at 12:53 a.m. A search was conducted of the vehicle and narcotics were found; a suspect was issued a citation.
On 2/4/22, an officer responded to the Monarch Casino on the report of a theft from a purse. No suspect was found upon review of surveillance footage. It was determined that the case was unfounded as nobody entered the victim’s purse during surveillance review.
On 2/4/22, BHPD officers responded to the Ameristar Casino on a report of two people smoking drugs. Two individuals were identified and found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia and were cited.
On 2/5/22, BHPD responded to the Monarch Casino on the report of a physical disturbance between male and female parties. The suspect fled the scene but was identified by a Mississippi drivers license and a warrant was issued.
On 2/5/22 at 6:46 a.m., the BHPD responded to a report of a theft of a cell phone. A report was taken and a male suspect has been identified.
On 2/5/22, a BHPD officer collected found narcotics at the Monarch Casino located at 488 Main Street. The narcotics were booked for destruction.
On 2/5/22, an officer responded to a report of a lost wallet on the gaming floor of the Ameristar Casino. The reporting party was found to have warrants and was jailed. Later a member of housekeeping was observed on surveillance finding the wallet and hiding it. The theft suspect was identified and released on a summons.
On 2/5/22 at approximately 10:50 p.m., an officer responded to a physical disturbance at Bally’s Black Hawk West (formerly the Golden Gates Casino). The two suspects were cited.
On 2/6/22 at approximately 5:32 a.m., BHPD responded to the Monarch Casino on a report of theft of property. Two male parties were charged with theft and the property was returned and booked into evidence for safe keeping.
On 2/6/22, an officer responded to the Monarch Casino on the report of a physical disturbance between two females. The two parties were separated for the night.
On 2/6/22 at approximately 3:30 p.m., an officer completed a phone report of an attempted catalytic converter theft from the Lady Luck parking garage.
On 2/6/22, a BHPD officer heard a Colorado State Patrol Trooper air on the radio he located an occupied stolen vehicle at the Z Stop,1351 CO-119. The officer responded to assist and two people were taken into custody. The vehicle was a reported stolen vehicle out of Denver.
On 2/7/22 at 6:05 a.m., an officer responded to the Lodge Casino on 240 Main Street on a report of a stolen jacket. In the jacket pocket were a set of earbuds and credit cards. The suspects were unknown and no identifying information was obtained through a surveillance review. The victim was advised to cancel credit cards with their bank.
On 2/9/22 at 8:09 p.m., BHPD stopped a vehicle in the 6000 Block of Highway 119. A suspect was arrested for multiple warrants and cited for misuse of plates and the vehicle was towed.
On 2/10/22, officers were dispatched to the Monarch Casino because surveillance was calling about several people being on the property who were involved in a burglary. Two parties were arrested on warrants and on burglary charges and a third person was cited for resisting arrest and released.
On 2/10/22 at approximately 11 a.m., officers received a phone report regarding a cold hit and run accident at the Mardi Gras Casino parking garage.
On 2/11/22, a BHPD officer responded to the Monarch Casino on the report of a physical disturbance. A suspect was arrested on assault charges.
On 2/11/22, the BHPD responded to a report of two parties observed on surveillance cameras smoking suspected narcotics at the Lodge Casino’s parking garage. The parties were contacted. One male party was issued a summons and the other was released pending charges.
On 2/11/22, a BHPD detective responded to the Ameristar Casino on the report of a firearm found in a hotel room. The item was booked into evidence.
On 2/11/22, an officer was dispatched to the Z Casino on a report of found drugs on the gaming floor. No suspect information was available.
On 2/12/22, officers responded to the Lady Luck Hotel on the report of a person overdosing. A female was transported to the hospital and narcotics were collected from the room.
On 2/12/22, BHPD officers were dispatched to the Monarch Hotel on a report of a disturbance between a male and female. An investigation determined that no crime had been committed and the parties were separated.
On 2/12/22, the BHPD responded to a report of a party that had been injured in a car accident. The party had been taken to the Black Hawk Fire Station for treatment by a passerby. It was determined that the accident occurred outside the city of Black Hawk.
On 2/12/22, a BHPD officer took a report of a vehicle in motion and a passenger shooting a firearm from the window in the 1500 block of Highway 119. The suspect was located and cited.
On 2/13/22 at approximately 3:44 a.m., an officer was dispatched to the Dakota Lot on 245 Main Street on a report of firearms stolen from a vehicle. No suspect information is available at this time.
On 2/13/22, a BHPD officer responded to the Lodge Casino located at 340 Main Street on the report of found drugs. The drugs were seized for destruction.
On 2/13/22, an officer responded to a physical disturbance at the Monarch Casino located at 488 Main Street. One suspect was issued a citation.
On 2/13/22, BHPD responded to Monarch Casino on a counterfeit bill report. $150 was seized and booked into evidence.
On 2/14/22, BHPD responded to the Isle Casino on a stolen vehicle report. After the investigation officers determined that the RP was not the vehicle’s rightful owner. The RP, however, informed officers that a female party he was hanging out with in Black Hawk took the car and he hasn’t been able to get back in touch with her. The case is active.
On 2/14/22, officers responded to the Ameristar Casino Hotel on a disturbance report. One male party was arrested for harassment after the investigation and was transported to Gilpin County Jail.
On 2/14/22 at 1:45 p.m., an officer responded to the Lodge Casino for a possible dog bite issue. A report was taken.
On 2/15/22, BHPD responded to Lodge Casino on report of an intoxicated female refusing to leave. After numerous attempts to release the party to her sober husband had failed, the officer transported the party to detox for welfare placement.
On 2/15/22 at 10:34 p.m., an officer was at Jake’s Deli inside the Lodge Casino when dispatch advised the Lodge Casino surveillance was reporting an intoxicated party had left the casino in a vehicle. The driver was contacted and arrested for suspicion of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs or both.
On 2/16/22 at approximately 1:57 a.m., officers heard a Gilpin deputy air that he had a vehicle that was failing to stop for him. Officers responded and covered in the Dakota Lot on 245 Main Street while others conducted a DUI Investigation. A female was arrested on suspicion of DUI.
On 2/16/22, BHPD responded to Monarch Casino on a party violating a court-ordered exclusion list. It was later determined via documentation provided by the Colorado Division of Gaming that his court-ordered exclusion expired on 2/12/22.
On 2/16/22 at approximately 10:23 p.m., Black Hawk Dispatch received a 911 call of a possible disturbance and a male party making suicidal threats. An investigation revealed no physical disturbance occurred and the male party was deemed not suicidal.
On 2/17/22, BHPD officers were dispatched to theAmeristar Casino parking garage on a report of an intoxicated party having been asked to leave the casino and then attempting to drive away. Upon contact, the investigation determined that the suspect was intoxicated and charged with driving under the influence.
On 2/19/22 at 1:34 p.m., BHPD located a fictitious license plate on a vehicle at the Monarch Casino parking garage. The license plate was seized and booked into property.
On 2/19/22, an officer was dispatched to the Lodge Casino in reference to a hit and run that occurred at the Dakota parking lot. The suspect was contacted and issued a summons.
On 2/19/22 at 10:20 p.m., an officer was dispatched to The Lodge Casino on a report of a stolen jacket off the gaming floor. The suspect was identified and later arrested at a nearby casino and released on a summons.
On 2/20/22, BHPD responded to a traffic crash involving two vehicles on Highway 119 and Richman Street. One driver was transported due to injuries. Both drivers appeared at fault and summons were issued.
On 2/20/22, BHPD officers responded to the Lady Luck Casino on 333 Main Street on a report of a stolen vehicle. No suspect has been identified at the moment and the case remains an open investigation
On 2/20/22 at 4:45 p.m., an officer was dispatched to the Monarch Casino on 488 Main Street to a report of found drugs. There is no suspect and the narcotics have been booked into evidence for destruction.
On 2/20/22 at 10:55 p.m., an officer was dispatched to an ID verification at the front entrance of the Ameristar Casino on 111 Richman Street. Dispatch said the male suspect tried to take the ID back, left the property, and was headed towards the Lodge Casino. The identity of the suspect is unknown.
On 2/21/22, BHPD responded to Monarch Casino’s parking garage level 2 on a lockout report. One female party was arrested on an outstanding warrant originating out of Gilpin County.
On 2/21/22 at approximately 7:36 a.m., a BHPD sergeant took a report of theft from an excavator at the construction site on 911 Miners Mesa Road. There is no suspect information.
On 2/21/22 at approximately 7:48 a.m., an officer responded to the Ameristar Casino on a report of a counterfeit bill. The bill was seized and the suspect who passed the bill was arrested for a warrant out of Denver. The suspect was booked into the Gilpin County Jail for the warrant.
On 2/21/22, BHPD responded to the Z Casino on a report of a stolen vehicle. The vehicle was recovered and a female was arrested.
On 2/22/22, officers responded to Ameristar Casino’s parking garage level 5 on a theft report. As a result, two parties were issued a Gilpin County summons, one for theft and the other for unlawful possession of a controlled substance.
On 2/23/22, an officer received a telephone report of a possible stolen backpack from the Ameristar Casino Hotel that occurred on 2/21/22. An investigation revealed two possible involved parties that have been identified. The case is ongoing.
On 2/25/22, BHPD responded to the 5th floor parking level at the Monarch Casino in response to a suspicious U-Haul truck. The last registered renter of the truck was contacted at the casino and U-Haul had the vehicle towed.
On 2/26/22, officers took a report at the police department for a pickup that was broken into at the Isle Casino. A firearm was stolen out of the vehicle. A report was taken.
On 2/26/22, officers responded to the Monarch Casino to assist the Division of Gaming. Two male parties were issued county summons and one of the males stole a gaming investigator’s radio.
On 2/27/22, BHPD located a stolen vehicle on the 4th floor of 111 Richman Street while conducting a License Plate Reader sweep. A male was arrested on Aggravated Motor Vehicle Theft charges.
On 2/28/22, an officer located a theft suspect at the Lodge Casino. The party was issued a summons and found to have an active warrant. They were transported to the Gilpin County Jail.
On 2/28/22 at approximately 3:45 p.m., a theft was reported from Sasquatch Casino. The item was returned to the owner and she did not want to pursue charges. A suspect was identified and a report was completed.
