On 12/1/21, at approximately 4:04 a.m., Black Hawk Police Department (BHPD) officers were dispatched to The Lodge Casino on a report of a person presenting a false ID. Upon contact, the suspect obstructed officers’ attempts to place him into custody. The suspect was later arrested and jailed on new charges.

On 12/1/21, at approximately 8:22 p.m., an officer stopped a vehicle for a fictitious license plate at 6300 Highway 119. The driver was cited and the plates and a fraudulent document were seized.

On 12/2/21, at approximately 11:46 a.m., BHPD officers were dispatched to the Wild Card Casino on a report of a purse theft. The suspect was found to have left the area and a report was taken.

On 12/3/21, at 6:06 a.m., BHPD responded to a report of a person trying to flag down cars near the Red Dolly Casino parking lot. The party was located and found to be in need of assistance starting his vehicle. However, he was prohibited from operating a motor vehicle in Colorado. The party was also found to have an outstanding warrant from another jurisdiction. The warrant was not accepted due to COVID restrictions. The party was released.

On 12/3/21, a BHPD detective responded to the 100 block of Clear Creek Street on the report of a criminal trespass to a motor vehicle. There is no suspect information.

On 12/3/21, at 9:21 a.m., BHPD responded to the intersection of Highway 119 and Mill Street on a report of a two vehicle accident. There were no injuries and one driver was issued a citation.

On 12/3/21, BHPD took a phone report regarding a hit and run at the Monarch Casino’s parking lot level 6. No suspect/s have been identified at the moment.

On 12/4/21, at 11:30 a.m., BHPD responded to the Dakota parking lot on 245 Main Street to investigate a report of damage to a vehicle. A report was taken.

On 12/4/21, an officer stopped a vehicle at 111 Richman Street for fictitious plates. The driver was arrested for a warrant and a summons was issued.

On 12/5/21, officers responded to the Monarch Casino on the report of a disturbance in a hotel room. A female was arrested for harassment.

On 12/5/21, at approximately 7:38 a.m., an officer responded to the Ameristar Casino on a report of a found backpack with narcotics inside. The owner was issued a summons and the backpack was released back to him.

On 12/5/21, an officer was dispatched to a found purse containing multiple IDs and credit cards at the Saratoga Casino at 101 Main Street in Black Hawk. A female was arrested for possession of a financial device, possession of drug paraphernalia, and a felony warrant out of the Denver Sheriff’s Department.

On 12/6/21, an officer responded to a medical call with CPR in progress on East 5th High Street in Central City. The officer and other first responders on scene performed CPR and other lifesaving measures for approximately fifty-six minutes but were unsuccessful in saving the individual’s life.

On 12/6/21, an officer was dispatched to the Monarch Casino on 488 Main Street in Black Hawk for an adult male who was previously trespassed from the property. The male was issued a municipal summons for trespassing

On 12/7/21, a BHPD officer responded to the Ameristar Casino on 111 Richman Street for an individual who was disturbing the peace. The party was located and issued a summons.

On 12/7/21, at approximately 7:30 p.m., an officer responded to the KMM garage on 255 Main Street on the report of a vehicle trespass. A suspect vehicle was identified through surveillance footage at a later date but the driver was not identified. A report was completed.

On 12/7/21, an officer was dispatched to a guest of the Monarch Casino who had dropped their wallet. Surveillance footage showed a male suspect picking up the wallet and walking back into the casino. The suspect was issued a municipal summons for theft.

On 12/7/21, at approximately 11:09 a.m., officers on foot patrol at 488 Main Street at the Monarch Casino and were asked to do an ID check. After officers cleared the male party they discovered he was a minor and the Division of Gaming was called and advised.

On 12/8/21, at approximately 1:38 a.m., officers responded to the Ameristar Casino on a report of an unknown white substance found in a bag. The officer booked the unknown white substance into evidence for destruction.

On 12/8/21, a BHPD officer was dispatched to a cold hit and run car crash where a vehicle was sideswiped in its parking space in the Ameristar parking garage on 111 Richman Street in Black Hawk.

On 12/8/21, the suspect vehicle was located back in the Ameristar parking garage. The suspect vehicle is a reported stolen vehicle out of Golden, Colorado. A suspect driving the stolen vehicle has been identified.

On 12/9/21, at about 9:20 a.m., BHPD were dispatched to the parking lot of the Z Casino on a report of a theft of a catalytic converter from a truck. This is reported to have happened in the last two weeks, coinciding with a rash of similar thefts in the area.

On 12/9/21, an officer responded to the Monarch Casino parking garage on the report of a stolen vehicle. The vehicle belonged to an employee at the Monarch. No suspect was identified.

On 12/10/21, officers responded to the Ameristar Casino for two intoxicated males causing a disturbance. The males were contacted again at the Lodge Casino and were both arrested for disorderly conduct and obstruction of justice.

On 12/11/21, officers responded to the Monarch Casino parking garage on the report of an animal left in a vehicle. A male was arrested for a warrant and issued a summons for animal cruelty.

On 12/11/21, officers responded to the Isle Casino on the report of an intoxicated female refusing to leave. The female was uncooperative and was transported to St. Anthony’s Hospital.

On 12/12/21, at approximately 11:43 p.m., officers responded to the Ameristar Casino, on a gasoline theft report. Surveillance video cameras were unable to identify the suspect.

On 12/13/21, a BHPD officer was dispatched to the cold theft of a purse at the Monarch Casino on 488 Main Street in Black Hawk. Dispatch said the suspects left in a vehicle with Colorado license plates. The case is currently under investigation to identify a suspect.

On 12/14/21, at approximately 4 p.m., BHPD took a report for a lost wallet from the Gilpin Casino on 111 Main Street. Surveillance conducted a review and determined the wallet was picked up by an unidentified male who immediately left the premises with the wallet. The male party got onto a charter bus and left town. The surveillance team backtracked the suspect and determined he never used identification or a player’s card. Surveillance footage was unable to help officers clearly identify the suspect.

On 12/14/21, at approximately 9:27 p.m., officers responded to the Ameristar Casino in reference to a subject with outstanding warrants. The subject was arrested and transported to BHPD for processing.

On 12/16/21, BHPD responded to Ameristar Casino’s parking garage level 5 on a Reddi report. One male subject was arrested and transported to Gilpin County jail on an FTA warrant.

On 12/17/21, BHPD responded to the Monarch Casino on a report of possible found drugs and fraudulent documents. The items were seized and a suspect has been identified.

On 12/17/21, an officer responded to Ameristar Casino parking garage level 7 on a hit and run report. No suspect/s were on scene upon the officer’s arrival. GC Summons #10505 was issued as a result of this call.

On 12/18/21, officers responded to the Dakota Lot Parking lot, located at 245 Main Street, on a domestic disturbance report. One female subject was transported to the Gilpin County Jail.

On 12/18/21, an officer took a phone report of a theft from a motor vehicle at the Ameristar parking garage. No suspect information was available.

On 12/18/21, an officer took a report of damaged property that occurred in the Isle Casino garage located at 401 Main Street.

On 12/18/21, officers responded to the Monarch Casino on the report of a male suspect grabbing a female inappropriately. The male was issued a summons for harassment.

On 12/19/21, a BHPD officer responded to an assault in progress at Ameristar located at 111 Richman Street. The suspect fled with the assault victim and engaged in pursuit with law enforcement. An emergency warrant was issued.

On 12/19/21, officers responded to the Ameristar Casino on the report of a male taking alcohol from the bar. The suspect was issued a summons for theft.

On 12/20/21, at approximately 12:38 a.m., officers were dispatched to a female with difficulty breathing who later stopped breathing inside the Isle of Capri Casino. The officers and members of the Black Hawk Fire Department performed CPR and were able to get a pulse back on the female, who was then transported to the hospital.

On 12/20/21, at approximately 11:52 a.m., BHPD contacted a male party inside City Hall at 201 Selak Street, who had walked in and requested police. The party was giving signs of having a mental episode but posed no threat of harm to himself or others. He also didn’t indicate any signs that he needed a forced medical evaluation. The party was released to walk home in Central City. His family later called and stated that the suspect was brandishing a knife while yelling about people hacking his wifi. He was later found walking up Spring Street in Central City and placed on a 72 hour mental health hold.

On 12/20/21, at approximately 8:20 p.m., officers responded to the 5800 block of Highway 119 for a motor vehicle crash involving a single vehicle that struck two signs and a light pole. The driver was driving on an instruction permit only and was arrested for the suspicion of driving under the influence. The driver was the only occupant of the vehicle and no injuries were reported.

On 12/20/21, at approximately 9:36 p.m., a BHPD officer took a phone report of unlawful sexual contact that happened at the Ameristar Casino.

On 12/20/21, an officer contacted a male for a welfare check at the Lady Luck Casino parking garage in Black Hawk. The male suspect was arrested on five outstanding warrants.

On 12/22/21, at approximately 5:25 a.m., BHPD Officers were dispatched to the Ameristar Casino on a report of domestic harassment, child abuse, and criminal mischief. Suspect information is available and a warrant will be issued.

On 12/22/21, at approximately 9:59 a.m., an officer responded to the Monarch Casino on theft from a motor vehicle. An unknown male party was observed entering the vehicle at approximately 1:08 a.m. The suspect has not been identified.

On 12/22/21, a BHPD officer took a phone report of a possible stolen catalytic converter taken from a vehicle parked at the Z Casino parking lot at 101 Gregory Street. The investigation is on-going.

On 12/23/21, a BHPD officer took a report of a stolen car from the Lodge Casino located at 240 Main Street.

On 12/24/21, an officer was dispatched to the Monarch Casino on an emailed threat to shoot up the casino’s poker room on Christmas, along with staff members who were called out by name. Persons of interest were developed and follow-up investigations are ongoing. Command and supporting agencies were notified and briefed. Police visibility was increased through stepped-up Vehicle and Foot Patrols in the area.

On 12/24/21, the BHPD responded to a welfare check on a party that was screaming at the Black Hawk Bally’s West Casino. The male party was contacted and found to have an outstanding warrant for his arrest. The suspect resisted arrest and attempted to flee on foot. The suspect was taken into custody and transported to the Gilpin County Jail.

On 12/24/21, officers responded to the Ameristar Casino on the report of a physical disturbance. A female party was arrested for harassment.

On 12/25/21, officers responded to the Monarch Casino on the report of a dog left in a vehicle. The owner could not be found and the dog was removed from the charge and taken to the animal shelter. A report was taken.

On 12/25/21, the BHPD responded to a report of a possible disturbance that was reported in a vehicle located in the 100 block of Main Street. A witness reported seeing a female party get pushed out of a vehicle. The female party was located. A male suspect has been identified and the situation is being investigated.

On 12/25/21, at 10:33 p.m., a BHPD officer issued a summons to a suspect who pulled a fire alarm when there was no fire at the Isle Casino.

On 12/26/21, at approximately 4:20 p.m., officers responded to the Isle Casino on 401 Main Street on the report of a stolen wallet. Upon checking surveillance two suspects were identified and later located in the Lady Luck hotel. The female suspect was issued a citation for theft. The male party she was with had multiple felony and misdemeanor warrants and was arrested, multiple drugs and drug items were found on his person. The male was booked into the Gilpin County Jail with multiple new charges.

On 12/26/21, at approximately 6:58 p.m., officers responded to 488 Main Street, the Monarch Casino parking garage, on a catalytic converter theft. There is no suspect information.

On 12/26/21, a BHPD officer was dispatched to the theft of a cell phone at the Lodge Casino. A suspect was identified and after the officer spoke to him on the phone he agreed to return the phone.

On 12/28/2021, at approximately 11:19 p.m., officers responded to the Monarch Casino in reference to a belligerent individual that was refusing to leave the casino after being asked to do so by security personnel.

On 12/30/21, officers responded to the Lodge Casino on an unresponsive male in the restroom. Controlled substances and paraphernalia were found and the male party was taken to the jail on warrants. The male party was refused by the jail and released.

On 12/30/21, the BHPD responded to a report of an individual who had been trespassed from the Ameristar Casino. The male suspect was contacted and arrested on an outstanding warrant.

On 12/30/21, the BHPD responded to a report of a stolen license plate at the KMM parking garage. A report was taken; no suspect has been identified.

On 12/31/21, a BHPD officer was dispatched to an intoxicated party who urinated on the sidewalk by the Gilpin Casino in Black Hawk. The adult male was issued a municipal summons for urination and defecation in public.
