On 8/1/22, officers were dispatched to the Saratoga Casino on a report of a dog on the loose. Officers were able to get the dog back into the vehicle where it came from. Officers were given a description of the dog’s owner. Officers were able to locate the owner. When officers were going to cite the owner for Running at Large Prohibited, the owner provided a false name. When officers went to detain the owner, she attempted to flee. The owner gave her real name and she came back with a warrant. The owner was transported to Gilpin County Jail on her warrant and two additional charges.
On 8/2/22, an officer responded to a report of an intoxicated driver leaving the Ameristar Casino parking garage. The officer contacted the driver, who admitted to being under the influence, and was arrested. Upon arrest, a large amount of cash was found on the driver. A sizable amount of drugs were recovered from the vehicle and a stolen firearm was recovered. A search warrant was issued for the vehicle, and another large amount of cash was seized. The driver and the passenger of the vehicle were transported to jail on numerous charges.
On 8/2/22, officers were dispatched to the Gilpin Casino on a report of a male party trespassing. Officers were able to locate the male party. After being informed by Lodge surveillance that the male party was on Gilpin Casino property, the male party was issued a municipal summons for trespassing.
On 8/3/22, officers were dispatched to the Ameristar Casino on a report of a stolen vehicle. Officers arrived on scene and spoke to the owner of the vehicle. The owner told officers that a friend of hers drove them up to the casino, then took the vehicle later that night. Officers attempted to make contact with the owner’s friend, but were unable to contact him. The owner’s friend started to text the owner to tell her he is coming back with her vehicle. The owner did not want to press charges and wanted to handle it civilly.
On 8/3/22, officers were notified by the Lodge Casino surveillance of a possible domestic violence incident with a female getting hit in the head by a male. A male suspect was arrested and jailed for assault in the third degree/domestic violence and violation of a protection order.
On 8/4/22, officers were dispatched to Monarch Casino to contact an intoxicated party. The officers took the intoxicated male to the Jefferson County Detox Center. The Jefferson County Detox Center did not accept him and he was taken to Lutheran Hospital.
On 8/4/22, officers responded to the area of Highway 119 at approximately mile marker 7.5 on the report of two vehicles involved in a motor vehicle crash. A male party was issued a summons and arrested on a warrant.
On 8/5/22, officers responded to the Ameristar Hotel on a report of a male who had taken 30 pills. The male was contacted and stated his intentions were to commit suicide. The male was placed on an M-1 hold and transported to the hospital.
On 8/5/22, officers assisted Colorado State Patrol on a road rage incident. All parties involved were released with no charges.
On 8/6/22, officers were dispatched to the Ameristar Casino for suspicious activity. A male intended to enter the casino displaying a DL not belonging to him. After officers retained the DL and cleared the male party with dispatch, he was released and asked to leave the property.
On 8/7/22, officers were dispatched to 111 Richman Street on the report of vehicle property damage. A suspect was identified and insurance information was exchanged.
On 8/7/22, officers were dispatched to the Horseshoe Casino on a report of a counterfeit bill. Officers arrived on the scene and spoke to the male party who had the bill. Officers determined that the male party did not know it was counterfeit. Officers collected the bill and it has been placed in for evidence.
On 8/7/22, officers were dispatched to the Monarch Casino on a report of a counterfeit bill. Officers arrived on the scene and spoke to the female party who had the bill. Officers determined that the female party did not know it was counterfeit. Officers collected the bill and it has been placed in for evidence.
On 8/8/22, officers responded to the Z Casino’s parking lot on a verbal disturbance report. Upon arrival, two parties were contacted, a male and a female. After a thorough investigation, the male party was arrested for harassment and domestic violence and was transported to the Gilpin County Jail.
On 8/8/22, an officer responded to the Gilpin Casino on a 9-1-1 call from a male party rambling. The officer contacted the male party and found he was intoxicated. The male party stated he was with friends; however, he would not provide their location or contact number. The male party was transported to Detox on a welfare placement.
On 8/9/22, officers were dispatched to the Monarch Casino on a report of a theft. Officers spoke to the victim and determined that some of the items she was reported missing were in her room. A report was taken on the other missing items.
On 8/10/22, officers received a call about a potential suicidal male party. An officer spoke to the male party’s friend, who reported that she received “questionable” text messages. The reporting party told officers that the male party was in Black Hawk, but did not know where. Officers tried to contact the male party by phone but were unable to. Officers also contacted the casinos and had the casinos check if the male party had been there recently.
On 8/10/22, officers were called to the gazebo located in the 100 block of Black Hawk Street on the report of a male party jumping around, doing karate, and smoking something from a pipe. The male was contacted and gave a fictitious name. He admitted to smoking marijuana in public, but was acting as if he was high on other drugs. He was detained and identified. He was released on a summons for providing false information to a police officer.
On 8/11/22, officers responded to the Ameristar Casino on the report of an overdose. While officers were en route to the location, Black Hawk communication aired that the reporting party was not answering questions. Instead, he was shouting “wake up” numerous times. When officers arrived, the male party was conscious; however, he was transported to the Lutheran hospital by the Gilpin Ambulance..
On 8/11/22, officers were dispatched to the Z parking lot for a welfare check on a female. The female was hallucinating and was unable to tell us where she was or the name of her husband. The female was transported to the hospital on an M-1 hold.
On 8/12/22, an officer assisted a Jefferson County Sheriff’s officer with an arrest at Bally’s West Casino, located at 261 Main Street.
On 8/13/22, an officer responded to the Horseshoe Parking Level 1 on a report of a party who was jumping on the hood of a vehicle. The party was later arrested and booked into the Gilpin County Jail.
On 8/13/22, officers responded to 401 Main Street on a possible stolen vehicle. The vehicle was no longer located where the victim said she parked. No suspect has been identified. The case will remain open for further investigation.
On 8/14/22, officers responded to the Ameristar Casino on the report of a trespass. The male party involved left the property before officers arrived, and was later located at the Lady Luck Casino. He was issued a summons for trespassing.
On 8/14/22, officers were dispatched to the Horseshoe Casino located at 401 Main Street on a report of a male party calling and threatening the Horseshoe. The male party stated that he was trespassed and was now in the parking garage and was telling security to come and get him. The male party then stated he had a gun and was on the second level of the parking garage. Officers, Division of Gaming Officers, and Gilpin County Sheriff deputies cleared the parking garage and were unable to locate the male party. The male party was located at Bally’s North Casino and was charged and taken to the Gilpin County Jail.
On 8/15/22, an officer responded to Ameristar Casino on a theft of property report. Upon their arrival, the officer was advised by Casino staff that the person of interest had left the property. Officers found the suspect and issued him a summons for theft.
On 8/15/22 at approximately 9:30 a.m., Black Hawk Police Department took a phone report on a suspected vehicle theft that occurred on the second level of the Lady Luck parking garage. No suspects have been identified at this time.
On 8/15/22, an officer responded to Bally’s parking garage, 300 Main Street, for a minor property damage issue.
On 8/15/22, officers responded to the Black Hawk Fire Department, 196 Clear Creek Street, Black Hawk, in regards to property damage. A report was taken.
On 8/16/22 at approximately 9:05 a.m., Black Hawk Police Department responded to a damaged property call at the 600 block of Chase Street on the report of a dented trash can. No suspects were identified at this time.
On 8/16/22 at approximately 11:17 a.m., the Black Hawk Police Department was dispatched to 333 Main Street (Lady Luck Hotel) on the report of stolen property. The suspect was identified and issued a summons.
On 8/17/22 at approximately 3:30 p.m., officers were dispatched to the Wild Card Casino on a report of a trespass. The suspect was contacted and issued a summons.
On 8/16/22, responded to the Lady Luck valet parking on the report of an accident. The party involved in the accident suffered from a medical episode and was transported to the hospital by Gilpin Ambulance.
On 8/16/22, an officer responded to Monarch Casino on a theft of property. The party reported a cell phone stolen. The officer conducted an investigation which included a surveillance review. After the officer’s investigation, he determined that the party had the cell phone in their back pocket the entire time they were in the casino. No crime happened. The last known location of the cell phone was hotel room 1112, the party’s room. This case is inactive.
On 8/17/22, an officer responded to the Monarch Parking garage on the report of an intoxicated party who left the Horseshoe Casino heavily intoxicated. One male party was transported to detox.
On 8/17/22 at approximately 10:45 a.m., an officer was dispatched to 340 Main Street (Lady Luck Casino) on the report of fraudulent activity. A possible suspect has been identified.
On 8/17/22 at approximately 1:12 p.m., an officer responded to the Monarch Casino on a report of a theft of a cell phone. The suspect was located and issued a summons and 86ed from the casino.
On 8/17/22 at approximately 4:05 p.m., an officer was dispatched to the Horseshoe Casino at 401 Main Street on a report of a lost checkbook. The victim was contacted and a report was taken. The victim later located the property at another casino.
On 8/17/22 at approximately 5:40 p.m., an officer was dispatched to the Lodge Casino, 240 Main Street, on a report of a female who had her foot run over by a car. Gilpin Medics transported the female who had minor injuries.
On 8/17/22 at approximately 8 p.m., an officer was dispatched to the Horseshoe Hotel at 401 Main Street on a report of a fight in progress between two females. One female was taken to Gilpin County Jail on charges and the other female was transported to Golden and released to a family member.
On 8/18/22 at approximately 3:14 a.m., officers were dispatched to the Red Dolly Casino parking lot, 530 Gregory Street, for two parties involved in the act of public indecency. Summonses were issued.
On 8/18/22 at 10:12 a.m., an officer was on routine patrol in the Ameristar Casino parking garage, 111 Richman Street, when he observed a forged Colorado Temporary License plate on a gold Mazda sedan. The plate was listed to an Audi coupe and expired in 2020. The forged temporary plate had the Mazda sedan information printed at the bottom. The forged plate was removed and booked into evidence. Further follow-up will be conducted.
On 8/18/22 at approximately 11:36 a.m., officers from Black Hawk, Gilpin County, and Gaming responded to the Monarch Casino on a report of a physical fight.
On 8/18/22 at approximately 5 p.m., an officer was on an area check of the Lady Luck garage and located a stolen vehicle. The suspect was located and booked into the Gilpin County Jail.
On 8/19/22, officers were dispatched to the Monarch Casino on a disturbance call involving an intoxicated party. The male suspect resisted officers and was taken to jail and summonsed.
On 8/19/22 at approximately 12:35 p.m., an officer was on foot patrol at the Monarch Casino when they noticed a party who was known to have several warrants. The female party was contacted and arrested for her warrants.
On 8/19/22 at approximately 8:40 p.m., an officer responded to a vehicle crash on Highway 119 at mile marker 5.8. The driver was issued a summons and released.
On 8/19/22 at approximately 10:02 p.m., officers responded to the Sasquatch Casino, 125 Gregory Street, on a theft report. A male party was identified but not contacted, and the case is active.
On 8/19/22, officers responded to the Horseshoe Casino on the report of a vehicle break-in. During the investigation, a total of five vehicles were found to have been trespassed. A report was taken and a suspect could not be identified.
On 8/20/22, an officer responded to the Dakota parking lot across from the Lodge Casino on the report of a disturbance between a male and female. A female party was transported to a detox facility.
On 8/20/22 at approximately 10:46 a.m., Black Hawk officers were dispatched to the Lodge Casino located at 240 Main Street on a report of a found prescription bottle with pills inside. Officers arrived and spoke to security and seized the prescription bottle. A report has been taken and this is an ongoing investigation.
On 8/20/22 at approximately 6:20 p.m., an officer was dispatched to the Saratoga Casino on a report of found drugs. There was no suspect who was identified and the drugs were taken into custody.
On 8/20/22 at approximately 11:45 p.m., an officer was dispatched to the Ameristar Casino on a report of found drugs. A suspect was identified and action is pending.
On 8/21/22, officers were conducting routine traffic patrol southbound on Highway 119. Near mile marker 5.8, officers observed what appeared to be a light pole and the Black Hawk sign damaged and lying on the ground. A report was taken.
On 8/21/22 a party advised he was missing his handgun. He advised he stayed at the Ameristar Casino, 111 Richman Street, but the gun could have been stolen while it was parked at the 7-11 in Denver as well. Surveillance determined the gun was not likely stolen at the Ameristar. However, the gun was entered into CCIC/ NCIC as lost/stolen. A report was taken.
On 8/21/22 at approximately 5:38 p.m., an officer responded to 111 Richman Street, the Ameristar Casino, on a call of a counterfeit $50 bill. The officer spoke with the casino patron, who said she was given the $50 bill when she received change from the gas station. There is no further information at this time.
On 8/21/22, an officer responded to the Dakota lot on an attempted motor vehicle theft. Upon arrival, the officer was advised by the reporting party that the person of interest had left the location. This case is active.
On 8/22/22, dispatch advised there was a suspicious person wandering around Hidden Treasure Trailhead. Dispatch advised the party was hitting a rock with what looked like a machete or possibly a stick. Officers arrived on scene and the male gathered his belongings and retreated to the vehicle. The male locked his vehicle doors and left the parking lot headed southbound on Highway 119 at a high rate of speed. The information was passed to Colorado State Patrol and the vehicle was not located.
On 8/22/22, officers were dispatched to 401 Main Street on the report of a trespass. A male suspect was identified and cited for trespassing and urination in public.
On 8/23/22, an officer took a report from the Ameristar Casino advising that a patron’s credit card had been stolen. The patron advised that eight credit cards had been stolen from her purse and was directed to call and cancel those cards. The patron provided a non-working phone number and provided security with the wrong hotel room number. The victim was not located and a business card was left with the Ameristar Casino security for the patron. Surveillance located a suspect and a suspect’s vehicle. The case is currently under investigation.
On 8/23/22, an officer responded to the Monarch Casino on the report of a theft of a wallet. The suspect was found and issued a municipal summons for theft.
On 8/24/22, officers were dispatched to the Monarch Casino on a report of counterfeit bills. Officers arrived on the scene and spoke to a male party who had passed the bills to guest services. The bills were seized and a report has been taken.
On 8/24/22, an officer took a report for a private property damage/hit and run that occurred in the Ameristar parking garage located at 111 Richman Street.
On 8/25/22, officers responded to the Monarch Casino on the report of a physical fight and damaged property. A male party was arrested for criminal mischief and assault in the third degree.
On 8/25/22, officers were at the Monarch Casino when security advised they had a party refusing to leave. Officers responded to the male party and staff issued a trespass notice. Dispatch cleared the male party and announced he had a warrant. The male was transported to jail on a Douglas County warrant.
On 8/25/22, officers were dispatched to the Ameristar Casino located at 111 Richman Street on the report of found drugs. Officers arrived and spoke to security. Officers seized the drugs and processed them into evidence. A report has been taken and a male party has been issued a summons.
On 8/26/22, officers were dispatched to Saratoga Casino for a disturbance among about fifteen people. All parties were released without charges.
On 8/27/22, an officer responded to the Lady Luck Casino to assist the Division of Gaming with a felony warrant pick-up. A suspect was arrested and transported to Gilpin County Jail.
On 8/27/22, officers received a report of counterfeit bills being passed at the 24/7 restaurant located inside the Monarch Casino. The bills were received over a 24- hour period and no suspect(s) are known at this time. The case was forwarded to the Detective Division for a follow-up.
On 8/27/22, an officer observed a careless driving vehicle on Highway 119 Southbound, mile marker 6. The driver was contracted and subsequently arrested for DUI.
On 8/28/22, an officer responded to the Horseshoe Casino for a reported theft incident. A report was taken.
On 8/29/22, officers responded to a motorist assist at the Monarch Casino. Upon arrival, Officers were informed that a male party was observed using a hanger in an attempt to gain access into a gold Buick. The male was not the registered owner and officers advised they would not assist with a lockout. The male was then observed by officers walking the parking garage. A short time later, surveillance advised the male had gained access into an SUV and was leaving the parking garage. Officers contacted the SUV and found the driver had permission to use the SUV. Investigation is ongoing to determine the owner of the gold Buick.
On 8/29/22 the Black Hawk Police Department responded to 401 Main Street on a possible stolen vehicle. The vehicle was no longer located where the victim said he parked it. No suspect has been identified. The case will remain open for further investigation.
On 8/29/22 at approximately 11:59 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a white Kia Sorrento with no license plates. The vehicle pulled into the valet at the Monarch Casino and stopped. The female driver handed the officer a Texas driver’s license that was obviously not the driver. The vehicle had a missing driver’s door lock. The unknown female suspect sped away after officers asked her to step out of the vehicle. The suspect almost struck several pedestrians and another vehicle. The investigation is ongoing.
On 8/29/22 an officer from the Black Hawk Police Department found a Colorado license plate on the ground while conducting an area check in the garage. The license plate was booked into evidence as found property.
On 8/30/22, an officer responded to the Horseshoe parking garage on a hit-and- run incident. A report was taken.
On 8/30/22, an officer responded to the Carriage House parking garage on a criminal mischief incident.
On 8/30/22 at approximately 1:30 p.m., Black Hawk Police officers responded to the Monarch Casino on the report of a patron who trespassed on their property. The male party was known to the officers and there were already open court orders banning the individual from all Black Hawk casinos and all of their respective properties. The party was contacted, issued another summons and he left the property.
On 8/30/22, a suspicious vehicle was identified containing two people in the Horseshoe Casino parking garage at 401 Main Street. A male and a female were found in the vehicle and the male was the restrained party in a mandatory protection order stating they are to have no contact and stay away from each other. The male was arrested and transported to jail.
On 8/30/22, dispatch advised surveillance from the Monarch Casino called in a party trespassing on property. An officer responded and was provided with a trespass notice for said party. A female party was issued a summons and released.
On 8/31/22 at approximately 3:40 p.m., officers responded to the Monarch Hotel and Casino on the report of a dine and dash. A male suspect was located and issued a citation.
On 8/31/22, officers assisted the Gilpin County Sheriff’s Office with apprehending a suspect. An arrest was made and a report was taken.
On 8/31/22 at approximately 11:06 p.m., an officer was dispatched to 300 Main Street on a suspicious person call. A male suspect was identified, cited, and transported by medical to the hospital.
