On 8/1/21, Black Hawk officers received a report of a stolen vehicle and two hand guns out of the Monarch Garage. The vehicle was recovered by an intoxicated driver who stole the vehicle at the Ameristar. The suspect was taken into custody.
On 8/1/21, Black Hawk officers responded to the Isle Casino on the report of a stolen wallet. A suspect was identified and issued a summons.
On 8/2/21, a Black Hawk police officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a blue Saturn Ion sedan bearing a Colorado license plate. Officers were already aware of this vehicle from a previous call for service and knew the license plates were fictitious and saw the ignition had been punched. The officers never witnessed that vehicle leave private property until today when it pulled from the Lady Luck parking garage in front of a Black Hawk police officer. The driver immediately turned into the Isle parking garage and went into oncoming lanes on the ramp to go down towards the valet. Officers activated their lights and siren to conduct a traffic stop and the driver sped away down the ramp with no regard to pedestrians or traffic and onto Main Street. The driver traveled from Main Street onto Mill and then south on Highway 119 at a very high rate of speed eluding the officer. Officers did not pursue the vehicle. With the help of Isle surveillance and Monarch surveillance police were able to back track the driver and he was positively identified. A warrant will be filed at a later time.
On 8/2/21, a Black Hawk officer was dispatched to the 300 block of Gregory Street, for an abandoned vehicle. A report and impound were completed.
On 8/4/21, Black Hawk officers responded to the Isle Casino on the report of a stolen vehicle. A suspect was identified but not contacted. The investigation is ongoing.
On 8/4/21, a Black Hawk officer responded to the Monarch Casino on a report of a stolen backpack. The suspect who stole the backpack later stole the victim’s vehicle by using the car keys found in the backpack. This is still under investigation.
On 8/4/21, Black Hawk officers responded to the 4th level of the Lady Luck parking garage in reference to a theft of a catalytic converter off of a 2003 Honda CR-V. A report was taken.
On 8/4/21, Black Hawk officers responded to the Sasquatch Casino on a report of a sign that fell. The bottom of the sign had rusted and caused it to fall. The sign was taken to the Black Hawk Police Department.
On 8/5/21, Black Hawk officers responded to the Gilpin Casino on a welfare check. A male party was issued a summons for violation of a protection order.
On 8/5/21, a report of a missing woman was made by her boyfriend. Both parties are here visiting from Arizona and are unfamiliar with the city. The adult female had been drinking heavily and became belligerent yesterday and left the Lady Luck Casino. The female party remained missing for hours until she was located sitting by the back door of the Sasquatch Casino. She was in good condition and was reunited with her boyfriend.
On 8/5/21, a female party called to report her cell phone had been stolen from a bathroom at the Monarch Casino. The owner of the cell phone tracked its location to an address in Lakewood, where Lakewood Police Department agents were able to recover the phone and identify a suspect.
On 8/5/21, a party contacted the Black Hawk Police Department to report his wallet had been lost somewhere in the area of Lady Luck Casino. The area was checked but no wallet was found. A report was taken.
On 8/6/21, a Black Hawk officer placed a female party on a mental hold because she was a danger to herself.
On 8/7/21, Black Hawk officers responded to the Monarch Casino on the report of a physical disturbance. A female party was arrested for theft (DV).
On 8/7/21, Black Hawk police responded to a report of a disturbance between a man and a woman at the Monarch Casino. A woman and male were identified. The investigation resulted in the female party being arrested for Harassment (Domestic Violence) and Resisting Arrest. She was booked into the Gilpin County Jail.
On 8/7/21, Black Hawk officers responded to the Monarch Casino regarding a disturbance in progress. All involved parties were separated and removed from the property.
On 8/8/21, Black Hawk officers responded to the Ameristar Casino on a physical disturbance. The victim decided not to pursue charges, and a male party was trespassed off property.
On 8/8/21, a female called the Black Hawk Police Department to report that her wallet was lost while in the city of Black Hawk on 8/7/21. She was unsure where the wallet was lost. A report was taken.
On 8/8/21, Black Hawk officers responded to the Isle Casino on the report of possible controlled substances found in the Lady Luck Hotel.
On 8/8/21, Black Hawk officers responded to the Ameristar in reference to mutual combat. A report was taken, and a party was asked to leave by casino staff.
On 8/9/21, Officers responded to a residence on Dubois Street on the report of a bear breaking into a shed. A report was taken and the Division of Wildlife notified.
On 8/9/21, Black Hawk Police officers responded to the area behind the Gilpin Casino valet parking lot along the creek side walking path (between 175-225 block of Main Street) on the report of a physical disturbance. Both parties were contacted and no evidence of a physical altercation existed. The parties were separated.
On 8/9/21, Black Hawk officers responded to the Monarch Casino on the report of a vandalized vehicle (Criminal Mischief). A suspect was identified.
On 8/10/21, Black Hawk officers responded to the Lady Luck parking garage on the report of a fire alarm being pulled. Officers responded to speak to a female on scene claiming she knew who pulled it. The female then reported her boyfriend pulled the alarm because they were fighting. The case is still being investigated at this time.
On 8/10/21, Black Hawk officers responded to the Monarch Casino on the report of an intoxicated person. The person was identified. Due to the level of intoxication the person was transported by medics. The person admitted to using Fentanyl and had unknown pills on his person believed to be Xanax.
On 8/11/21, a Black Hawk officer responded to the Isle Casino on a report of a vehicle that was being stolen. The owner confronted the suspect and the suspect ran away and was later found and booked into the Gilpin County Jail.
On 8/11/21, Black Hawk officers received a phone report regarding a cold disturbance having occurred on 8/8/21. The result of the investigation is unfounded.
On 8/12/21, Black Hawk officers responded to the Monarch Hotel on the report of a physical disturbance. A female party was arrested for harassment and criminal mischief (domestic violence).
On 8/12/21, the Black Hawk Police Department was dispatched to a possible sexual assault that occurred at the Monarch Hotel. Investigation revealed a female turned away advances from two male friends. The female reporting party did not want harassment charges filed, only a record on file of the incident.
On 8/13/21, Black Hawk officers responded to the Ameristar Casino on the report of a stolen vehicle. One male suspect was arrested for robbery (DV) theft of a motor vehicle (DV) and assault third degree (DV).
On 8/13/21, a Black Hawk officer responded to the Ameristar Casino on a report of a slot machine that was damaged. The suspect was identified and was still at the casino.
On 8/13/21, Black Hawk Police responded to a report of a female party throwing clothes from a 12th floor window of the Lady Luck Casino. Officers arrived and contacted a male and female party who admitted to having an argument but denied any criminal activity. No evidence of a crime was found and the parties agreed to separate until they could calm down.
On 8/13/21, Black Hawk Police investigated a report of a woman screaming for help from a moving car. The investigation revealed an adult male acquaintance forcefully took his ex-girlfriend’s vehicle and assaulted her before driving to the Denver area. The adult female party was able to take back her vehicle and escape. The male party was arrested.
On 8/14/21, a Black Hawk officer responded to the Monarch Hotel on the report of a fight in progress. The two parties involved decided not to press charges and were all evicted from their rooms at the Monarch.
On 8/14/21, a Black Hawk officer took a phone report of a lost cell phone that occurred earlier that day at the Monarch Casino. Upon further investigation and with surveillance review, it was determined the phone was left at a slot machine at approximately 4 a.m. Shortly after the owners left the area and the phone behind, an unknown male party walks by and picks the phone up. The male was never identified and a report was taken.
On 8/14/21, Black Hawk Police contacted an adult female party at the Bally’s North Casino as part of a follow-up investigation on a previously reported theft. The female party was found to have an outstanding warrant for her arrest. The female party was arrested and transported to the Gilpin County Jail.
On 8/15/21, a Black Hawk officer responded to the Lodge Casino on a found drug report. One female party was issued a Gilpin County summons for this incident.
On 8/15/21, Black Hawk Police took a report of lost prescription glasses at the Monarch Casino.
On 8/15/21, a Black Hawk officer responded to the 100 block of Main Street on the report of a bus colliding with a small SUV. No injuries were reported and the bus driver was issued a summons. A state crash report was completed.
On 8/15/21, Black Hawk officers responded to a non-injury accident on HWY 119 at the Main Street intersection. A DR3447 was completed.
On 8/15/21, Black Hawk officers received a report by phone of the theft of a license plate year sticker. No suspects have been identified.
On 8/15/21, a Black Hawk officer reported that on 8/14/21, he placed his City of Black Hawk issued Motorola radio on the top of his personal vehicle in preparation to come to work. He further stated that he forgot the radio was on the top of his vehicle and he drove off. The radio fell off somewhere between his residence and Black Hawk, Colorado. The officer was unable to locate the radio.
On 8/16/21, Black Hawk officers responded to the Monarch Casino in reference to a possible overdose at the black jack table. The subject was transported by Gilpin EMS.
On 8/16/21, Black Hawk Police responded to the Monarch Hotel on the report of a domestic disturbance inside a hotel room. The scene was investigated and a female party was arrested and taken to the Gilpin County Jail on assault charges.
On 8/16/21, Saratoga Casino Surveillance notified the Black Hawk Police Department that their company vehicle parked on level 7 had their catalytic converter stolen off of it between 8/8/21 and 8/16/21. There are no suspects identified at this time and a report was taken.
On 8/16/21, Black Hawk officers responded to the Ameristar Casino to take a report of vehicle trespass. The vehicle was parked by valet the day prior, however the vehicle was left unlocked. Amongst the items stolen from the vehicle was a Ruger .40 caliber handgun. A suspect was tracked leaving property but not identified at this time. A report was taken.
On 8/16/21, a Black Hawk detective was made aware of an email that was sent to the city regarding an individual possibly selling narcotics from his vehicle. The individual and vehicle were identified and was passed on to patrol officers for further investigation.
On 8/16/21, Black Hawk officers stopped a vehicle at Miners Mesa Road and Main Street with fictitious license plates. The plates were seized and a summons was issued.
On 8/16/21, a Black Hawk sergeant responded to 100 Miners Mesa, Rim Rock parking lot, in reference to damage to fleet vehicle #14.
On 8/17/21, a Black Hawk officer responded to the Monarch Casino on a report of a vehicle trespass where a backpack was stolen from the back of a truck.
On 8/17/21, a Black Hawk officer responded to 197 Clear Creek Street, on the report of a vehicle on jack stands that hadn’t moved in an extended period of time. A Code compliance courtesy warning letter was served and left on their door in reference to the vehicle.
On 8/17/21, Black Hawk officers responded to 235 Chase Street on the report of a truck that was unregistered and storing trash in the bed. A courtesy code compliance notice was left for the owners of the truck at this residence.
On 8/17/21, Black Hawk officers responded to the Cooper Street parking lot on the report of a theft of a catalytic converter. No suspects have been identified.
On 8/17/21, an unknown white female made contact with Black Hawk officers to turn in a found wallet.
On 8/18/21, a Black Hawk officer was on foot patrol at the Isle Casino when he was notified of a female party running in the back of the casino without shoes. The party was located and later transported to a metro area hospital on a mental health hold.
On 8/18/21, Black Hawk officers responded to the Monarch Casino on the report of a fake ID. The male suspect left property before officers arrived and could not be identified.
On 8/18/21, Black Hawk officers were on foot patrol at the Monarch Casino and were asked to do a welfare check. A male and a female were contacted and the male party had a warrant. He was arrested on the warrant and transported to the Gilpin County jail.
On 8/19/21, Black Hawk Police recovered a bicycle that was abandoned on city property for several days. The bike was taken for safekeeping.
On 8/19/21, a Black Hawk officer responded to the Monarch main cash cage on a report of a counterfeit $20 bill. The bill was seized and booked into evidence.
On 8/20/21, Black Hawk police contacted a male party at the Monarch Casino regarding a theft from the Lodge Casino on 08/14/21. The male party was arrested for a warrant.
On 8/20/21, a Black Hawk officer responded to Monarch Casino on the report of a theft from a vehicle parked in the Monarch parking garage. The suspect was successfully identified by surveillance and the reporting party. A warrant for arrest will be issued.
On 8/21/21, Black Hawk officers responded to the Monarch Casino on the report of a physical disturbance. A male party was arrested for harassment (DV) and violation of protection orders.
On 8/21/21, Black Hawk Police responded to a report of unattended children in the hall of the Lady Luck Hotel. The children’s mother was located and issued a summons for child abuse and possession of drug paraphernalia. The children were released to a relative.

On 8/22/21, a Black Hawk officer responded to the Wild Card Casino on the report of a theft of a phone. In surveillance the officer was able to see the suspect taking the phone but not able to identify him.
On 8/22/21, a Black Hawk Officer responded to the Isle Casino for suspicious found property. The owner was located and found to have an active warrant. Party was transported to the Gilpin County Jail.
On 8/23/21, Black Hawk Police took a report of a domestic violence - menacing situation which is occurring at the Ameristar Casino.
On 8/23/21, Black Hawk Police responded to Richman Street and Highway 119 for a domestic dispute. One male party was arrested for this incident.
On 8/24/21, a Black Hawk officer responded to Highway 119 at mile marker 6 on the report of a non-injury crash involving a freight box truck and a VW sedan. There were no injuries and the driver of the truck was given a summons for turning right from the wrong position/ lane.
On 8/25/21, a Black Hawk officer responded to the Monarch Parking Garage level 2 on a report of a party who was unconscious. Gilpin Ambulance arrived on the scene and took over the call.
On 8/26/21, Black Hawk officers responded to The Ameristar Casino on a theft report. The suspect was identified and will be contacted.
On 8/26/21, Black Hawk Officers responded to The Monarch Casino on a report of disturbance.

On 8/29/21, Black Hawk officers responded to the Ameristar Casino at the bus turn around on the report of a possible mental subject causing a disturbance on the city shuttle bus. Upon arrival, officers and emergency medical responders determined the subject needed to go to the hospital on a mental health hold. Medics transported that party to Denver Health Hospital with no further incident.

On 8/31/21, a Black Hawk officer responded to the Isle Casino on the report of a party trespassing on property. Isle Casino provided several pieces of documentation proving the male was permanently 86’ed off property. The male party left property prior to police arrival, however was later apprehended and issued a summons.
On 8/31/21, Black Hawk officers saw two subjects in contact with one another outside the Lodge Casino near Main Street and Richman Street. These parties were known to have a no contact restraining order from a prior domestic violence case recently filed. The female was restrained from making any communication with her male companion and was arrested and released on a summons
