On 4/1/22, a BHPD officer responded to a report of unlawful sexual contact at the Monarch Casino on 488 Main Street. A male suspect was identified and the case is still under investigation.
On 4/1/22, at 8:48 p.m. a BHPD officer spotted a traffic violation on Main Street and Miners Mesa Road. The driver was cited and the vehicle was impounded.
On 4/2/22, a BHPD officer was on a call when a suspicious vehicle continued driving around the officer. The driver was contacted and a glass pipe was observed in plain view. The driver was issued a summons and released.
On 4/2/22, the Black Hawk Police and Black Hawk Fire Departments responded with the Gilpin County Ambulance Authority to a report of a suicidal male party at the Z Casino. The male party was taken to the hospital for further treatment.
On 4/2/22, BHPD responded to the Monarch Casino on a request to check the welfare of a male party who had been standing on the running board of a truck for about half an hour. The male party was contacted and found to be wanted on outstanding Gilpin County warrants. The party was arrested and transported to the Gilpin County Jail.
On 4/3/22, an officer responded to the Lodge Casino on the report of an assault. The victim was located and refused to cooperate with law enforcement. The suspect was identified and escorted from the property without incident.
On 4/3/22 at approximately 1:42 p.m., an officer responded to the Monarch Casino on a report of a party who threw a wallet into the creek and then was leaving in a vehicle. The suspect eluded police in a vehicle with a fictitious license plate and was not pursued.
On 4/3/22 at approximately 5:40 p.m., an officer took a phone report from a female party stating a compressor was stolen from the bed of her pickup truck while it was parked at the Z Casino on 101 Gregory Street. No damage was done to her vehicle and no other items were taken. A report was taken and an investigation will be conducted.
On 4/3/22 at approximately 6:35 p.m., Black Hawk dispatch was advised of a hit and run crash that occurred on level 1 of the Monarch parking garage on 488 Main Street. The crash was between a dark colored Ford crossover and a parked, unattended white Dodge Ram. There is currently a review being conducted on the incident by Monarch Surveillance. The owner of the Ram was contacted and a report was taken.
On 4/5/22, an officer responded to the report of a stolen purse at the Isle Casino. After an investigation, the purse was found to have been turned into lost and found with all contents present.
On 4/5/22 at approximately 4:45 p.m., BHPD officers responded to Black Hawk Towing yard on Canyon Road to assist Gilpin County on a possible burglary/ theft in progress. Officers detained two suspects and held them until Gilpin County Sheriff’s deputies could arrive.
On 4/5/22 at approximately 8:48 p.m., BHPD responded to the Monarch Casino on 488 Main Street on the report of a stolen cell phone with a suspect still on scene. The suspect was contacted and a cell phone was recovered. The suspect was issued a summons for theft and barred from the property for life.
On 4/6/22, a party called the BHPD to report a theft that occurred at a residence in November, 2021. The party believed that the stolen property had been pawned and wanted a report taken. The incident is under investigation.
On 4/6/22 at 5:06 p.m., a BHPD officer recovered a stolen vehicle from inside the KMM parking garage located at 255 Main Street.
On 4/8/23, an officer took a phone report from a female party known to BHPD as a person needing psychiatric care. She alleged being raped and then being shot in a hotel room in Black Hawk in 2020. BHPD case history reflects no record of this event.
On 4/8/22, BHPD officers were flagged down at the entrance to the KMM parking garage at 255 Main Street in regards to a person needing assistance. The vehicle associated to the person was located in the parking garage and was found to be stolen. It was impounded by BHPD and the suspect was transported by ambulance for a mental health evaluation. The case is open pending further investigation.
On 4/8/22, BHPD responded to the Monarch Casino on a report of a criminal impersonation. An unidentified party attempted to re-route an employee’s paycheck into a different bank account without the employee’s permission. A report was taken.
On 4/8/22, BHPD responded to a report of a catalytic converter stolen from a parked vehicle at the Lady Luck Parking Garage located at 333 Main Street. There is currently no suspect information available.
On 4/9/22, BHPD officers were on a call when security advised them that a theft suspect was running in their direction. Officers observed the male suspect and detained the suspect until a gaming agent took him into custody.
On 4/9/22, a BHPD officer received a phone report on a stolen gun and jewelry from a hotel room at the Ameristar Casino on 111 Richman Street. The victim stated he met a female at the casino and she spent the night with him. He found out later that he was missing a handgun and a men’s ring. A female person of interest has been identified and the case is being investigated.
On 4/9/22 at 3:20 p.m., BHPD officers responded to the Monarch Casino garage on a report of a female using illegal drugs in a vehicle. The surveillance camera was directly overhead where the female suspect was found and illegal drugs were in her possession. She was issued a summons and released.
On 4/10/22 at approximately 12 p.m., a party called the BHPD and reported that his $2000 solid gold bracelet was lost/ stolen from the Monarch Casino while he was on the gaming floor. He advised he contacted security and surveillance and a review was completed but they claimed to have never seen the bracelet. The party insisted his bracelet was on while gaming and lost therefore requesting police conduct a review and report.
On 4/10/22 at approximately 3:55 p.m., a BHPD officer responded to level 5 of the Monarch parking garage on the report of an employee’s vehicle being trespassed and items stolen. The suspect was not identified at that time and it was determined the victim left his truck doors unlocked. The suspects used several credit cards and bank cards in and around Evergreen, Colorado, and an investigation is being conducted.
On 4/10/22 at approximately 3:38 p.m., officers responded to 401 Main Street on a call of found drugs. Officers were unable to determine who the drugs belonged to. The drugs were confiscated and booked into evidence for destruction.
On 4/13/22 at approximately 1:45 a.m., BHPD officers attempted to stop a BMW that was traveling at a high rate of speed away from a Colorado State Patrol vehicle when the BMW entered Black Hawk. The BMW failed to yield and left Black Hawk where it ended up striking two construction vehicles on Highway 6 in Clear Creek County. The BMW eluded the Clear Creek County Sheriff’s Office.
On 4/14/22 at 6:39 p.m., a BHPD officer arrested a suspect involved in a domestic violence assault that occurred at the Monarch Casino located at 488 Main Street.
On 4/15/22, an officer was dispatched to the Monarch Security Office for a found drugs call. No suspect information was available. The drugs were entered into evidence for destruction.
On 4/15/22, BHPD officers responded to a report of found drugs at the Ameristar Casino. A suspect was identified and upon contact, found to have outstanding warrants. The party was arrested and transported to the Gilpin County Jail.
On 4/16/22 at approximately 3 p.m., BHPD responded to the Monarch Casino on the report of a stolen purse. With Monarch surveillance team members’ help the suspect was tracked and located in the poker room. The suspect had taken all cash, financial information, credit cards, and the driver’s license out of the purse and put them in his pockets and threw the purse away. He was charged with felony theft, felony possession of financial transaction devices, and possession of identification documents. He also had a warrant for his arrest. He was taken to the Gilpin County Jail and booked in for the above charges. The remaining cash and recovered items were returned to the rightful owner.
On 04/17/22, BHPD Officers responded to a REDDI (Report Every Drunk Driver Immediately) Report on Highway 119 and stopped the suspect vehicle in the 7000 block in front of the Ameristar Casino Parking Garage. The driver was cited for DUI.
On 04/17/22, officers responded to the Ameristar Casino on a REDDI Report. A traffic stop was conducted at the Isle Casino and a male party was arrested for driving under the influence and released on a summons.
On 04/18/22, a BHPD officer responded to the Wild Card Casino in reference to a $5 bill found with an unknown white powder substance. The $5 was located behind the bathroom toilet and there is no suspect information.
On 4/18/22, an officer responded to the Carriage House parking garage on 270 Gregory Street for a report of a suspicious person. Upon contact, party was found to have active warrants and transported to
Gilpin County Jail.
On 4/18/22, BHPD responded to Isle parking garage level 2 on a lockout report. One male party had a felony warrant and was arrested pending Gilpin County jail acceptance. Unfortunately, Gilpin County Jail refused due to medical reasons and the party was transported to Lutheran Medical Center, where he was released to the Wheat Ridge Police Department.
On 4/19/22, dispatch advised officers of a REDDI report. A BHPD officer observed the vehicle reported and conducted a traffic stop. The driver was transported to the police department after consenting to a blood draw and was released to a sober party on a summons.
On 4/20/22, BHPD investigated a report of harassment via text message. The female party that reported the incident had received a possible harassing text message while she was gambling at the Monarch Casino. A report was taken.
On 4/20/22, BHPD officers responded to the area of Bally’s North on the report of a physical disturbance. A female was arrested for felony menacing, harassment, and domestic violence.
On 4/21/22, a female party called the BHPD to report that her laptop had been stolen from the 7300 block of Clear Creek Boulevard. The laptop was later found by the owner at her residence.
On 4/21/22 at approximately 8:15 a.m., BHPD and medical services responded to the Isle Casino Hotel on a report of a 71-year-old female who was unresponsive and not breathing. The female guest passed away in her hotel room under no suspicious circumstances and was determined to be related to her medical conditions.
On 4/22/22, BHPD officers responded to a call at the Ameristar Casino of a physical disturbance. A male party was issued a summons for assault.
On 4/23/22, the BHPD responded to a report of a party that stole another party’s identification. The female suspect was contacted and arrested on an outstanding warrant. The female suspect was also issued a summons for the theft.
On 4/23/22 at approximately 2:06 p.m., BHPD received a call of a Ford truck containing a firearm being stolen from the Isle Casino parking garage at 401 Main Street. This case remains active with no confirmed suspect(s) at this time.
On 4/24/22 at approximately 6:24 a.m., officers responded to the KMM parking garage on the report of an attempted vehicle break- in.
On 4/24/22, an officer received a phone report of stolen vehicle parts from the Lady Luck Parking Garage on 333 Main Street. A report was taken.
On 4/24/22 at approximately 12:30 p.m., a BHPD officer responded to 241 Dubois Street on the report of suspicious activity. Upon arrival it was determined the owner of the residence came out to find the doors to his truck were open. Nothing was stolen however everything was dumped out of his cup holder and center console. No damage was done to the truck and even though small valuables were inside the truck nothing was stolen. A report was taken. Neither the victim nor the immediate neighbors have surveillance cameras.
On 4/25/22, a BHPD officer responded to the Isle Casino in reference to an intoxicated party refusing to leave. The party was contacted and found to be in violation of a protection order, which the jail would not accept. The party was issued a summons and escorted to the Monarch Casino.
On 4/25/22 at approximately 7:52 p.m., an officer made contact with a suspicious vehicle inside the Carriage House parking garage located at 270 Gregory Street. The female behind the driver’s seat was a protected party in a permanent restraining order listing a male as the restrained. There was a male party in the front seat that she refused to identify. The male party was the restrained party prohibiting any communication with the female he was in the car with. He attempted to flee and evade arrest but was put into an arm restraint and taken into custody. The male was arrested for protection order violation and resisting arrest.
On 4/26/22, a BHPD officer was dispatched to an employee vehicle stolen from the Dakota parking lot. The registered owner filed a report and suspect information was gathered from Lodge Casino surveillance. The case is currently ongoing.
On 4/26/22, an officer took a phone report from a female stating she had her wallet stolen from the Ameristar Casino on 111 Richman Street between 4/22/22 and 4/23/22. A request for surveillance review was requested from the Ameristar and followup will be conducted at a later time.
On 4/27/22, BHPD responded to Ameristar Casino’s valet on the report of an intoxicated party attempting to drive off property. The male party was arrested and cited for violating his protection order stipulations.
On 4/28/22, BHPD officers responded to Ameristar Casino’s parking garage level 5 on a report of damage to property. One male party was issued a Municipal summons for urinating in public.
On 4/28/22, BHPD officers were advised of a suspect wanted on a felony DV warrant out of Arvada PD. The suspect was known to be staying at the Ameristar Hotel. The suspect was later observed on the gaming floor of the Monarch Casino where he was contacted and placed into custody by BHPD, CDOG, and GSCO officers and deputies. The suspect was jailed on the warrant.
On 4/29/22, an officer responded to the Lady Luck Hotel lobby on the report of a disturbance between a male and female. A female suspect was arrested for harassment.
On 4/29/22, officers responded to the Monarch Casino on the report of a drug transaction. A male was arrested on a warrant and issued a summons for violation of a protection order. A second male was released pending charges of unlawful possession of a controlled substance and distribution.
On 4/29/22, BHPD responded to the Ameristar Casino on a report of found drugs. A small bag containing suspected methamphetamine was seized and booked for destruction. No suspect has been identified.
On 4/29/22 at approximately 10:14 a.m., BHPD was dispatched to a disturbance at the Monarch Casino Hotel. Three parties (one male/two females) were involved in a disturbance. It was determined one female slapped another female. The alleged victim, in this case, did not wish to pursue criminal charges.
On 4/29/22, BHPD officers responded to the Ameristar Casino on the report of a physical disturbance between two males. One male was arrested for assault in the third degree.
