The Gilpin Democrats celebrated Earth Day a little late, according to Chair Eric Douglas, by holding “a flower planting blitz” on Sunday, April 30. Nine members of the group added to landscaping by planting flowers at the Veteran’s Memorial, the Food Pantry, the Library, and the Human Services building, all in mid-County.
According to Douglas, the nine Democrats planted “about 300 plants” altogether. They had been donated by two members of the group. Given that at least one Gilpin Dem is a Master Gardener, this generous act does not surprise the community.
