Assistance available across the Peak to Peak

The Peak to Peak Housing and Human Services (P2P HHS) Alliance which is based in Nederland was chosen to be a member of a steering committee that will help Boulder County with a community engagement process prior to determining the funding allocations of American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA).

Boulder County, like many other local governments, has received $63.3 million from the ARPA funds to help respond to community needs, address its economic fallout, and lay the foundation for a strong and equitable recovery. The steering committee was formed by the Board of County Commissioners to collaborate with the community and business leaders to ask for ideas for building a recovery that is equitable and durable. The input from the Nederland and Peak to Peak community will guide the County’s and other governments’ program and investment decisions.

The Steering Committee is hoping that organizations throughout the county will help with this endeavor and is looking for organizations to volunteer to do the following:

To host a “community conversation” with your members and/or the general public between September 8th - 30th to hear the ideas of residents and businesses for building back stronger. A tool kit is available or either I or a Boulder County facilitator will help guide the conversation and capture feedback.

Send the link to the survey to your members, businesses and networks

Share any reports or data that demonstrates the impact the pandemic has had on your organization or the community you serve to ARPAinput@bouldercounty.org

Tell us your ideas as to how to reach those most affected by Covid by emailing ARPAinput@bouldercounty.org

The Nederland community has faced quite a few hardships in the last two- three years that were exacerbated by the pandemic. This community’s feedback and ideas will help determine how federal dollars will be spent to help businesses recover from COVID and the subsequent economic downturn. The turnaround is really quick but the County Commissioners would like to have this feedback before they start their budget sessions in late October.

Vaccines and Testing

Thanks to everyone who has gotten tested and vaccinated. The Delta variant has been responsible for quite a few breakthrough cases in Nederland and those who’ve been vaccinated are suffering fewer symptoms and recovering fairly quickly.

We will continue to have vaccine and testing clinics every week in October. The schedule will continue to be posted at www.p2phhs.org and on Facebook.
