On 4/1/19 a deputy conducted a traffic stop on Roworth Street in Central City. The driver was arrested for felony DUI, driving on a revoked license, no insurance and unregistered vehicle.

On 4/2/19 at approximately 12:10 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to a suspicious person at a casino in Central City. When the deputy arrived, he learned from the casino staff that the party was no longer welcome on the property. The deputy contacted the unwanted party and the party refused to leave the casino when directed to do so by the deputy. The party then resisted when the deputy attempted to place the him under arrest for trespassing. The party was arrested and booked into the Gilpin County Jail.
On 4/3/19 a deputy conducted a welfare check on a party in Central City. This party`s driver’s license was confiscated on behalf of the Department of Revenue for being suspended. A report was later completed.
On 4/5/19 a deputy stopped a vehicle for not having a front number plate attached. The driver of the vehicle did not have a valid driver's license and the passenger had an outstanding warrant.
On 4/5/19 a deputy stopped a vehicle for speeding on South Beaver Creek Road in unincorporated Gilpin County. The driver was found to be driving under restraint, had no proof of insurance and was using fictitious plates. The driver was issued a summons and plates were taken as evidence.
On 4/5/19 a deputy conducted a traffic stop off Lump Gulch Road. The driver was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and marijuana. The driver was also in possession of a schedule one controlled substance.
On 4/6/19 at approximately 7:25 p.m. a deputy responded to the 200 block of West 1st High Street. Central City, for a civil stand by. One of the parties involved in the civil stand by alleged they had been assaulted earlier that morning.
On 4/7/19 a deputy conducted a traffic stop on south Highway 119. The driver provided a false name. The deputy attempted to place the male party into custody when a fight ensued, and the male party assaulted the deputy. A foot pursuit ensued, and the male jumped 12 feet down onto a creek side path and jumped an additional 12 feet down into the creek. A K-9 was requested to assist with the apprehension. The male party was later arrested for numerous charges, including assault on a peace officer.
On 4/7/19 at approximately 7:44 a.m. a Gilpin County Deputy conducted a traffic stop in the 400 block of Lawrence Street, in Central City. Both occupants of the vehicle were determined to have suspended or revoked driver’s licenses. Both occupants were also determined to have warrants. The driver decided to flee the traffic stop and the deputy followed. The driver fled the scene, circled around a block in Central City, and began south bound on the Central City Parkway. The deputy followed until the driver abandoned the vehicle and ran into the woods. Another deputy arrived on scene and took custody of the female passenger. The other deputy began to track the driver who disappeared into the woods. The deputy was able to locate and take the driver into custody. Numerous firearms, controlled substances and paraphernalia were found.
On 4/7/19 at approximately 3:22 p.m. a deputy located two warrants for a current inmate in the Gilpin County Jail. He was booked on those warrants.
On 4/7/19 a deputy stopped a motorcycle for speeding, and no license plates. The driver was found to be under restraint and had no insurance. The motorcycle was towed, and driver issued a summons for above charges.
On 4/7/19 at approximately 8:50 p.m. a deputy responded to the 500 block of Columbine Camp Ground Road Central City, on the report of a roll over motor vehicle accident.
On 4/8/19 a deputy conducted a traffic stop on Crestview Drive. The driver was later arrested for DUI.
On 4/8/19 at 3:52 p.m. a deputy responded to a barking dog complaint in the 500 block of Coyote Circle, unincorporated Gilpin County. The complainant reported her neighbor`s dog barks every time she goes outside, however, she did not want to prosecute. The dog owner was contacted and exchanged information with the complainant so that the issue could be resolved without law enforcement intervention.
On 4/9/19 a deputy took a report of someone illegally dumping trash in someone else’s trailer. The case is still under investigation.
On 4/9/19 at approximately 6:55 p.m. a deputy responded to the 100 block of Academy Street, Central City, on the report a suspicious event. Bone fragments from an unknown species were collected. The Gilpin County Coroner was contacted, and a report was taken.
On 4/10/19 at approximately 12:10 a.m. two deputies responded to the valet of the Grand Z Casino, located at 321 Gregory Street, Central City, on the report of a verbal disturbance between a male and female. The male party was found to have a warrant and was arrested.
On 4/11/19 at 1:57 a.m. a deputy responded to the report of a motor vehicle accident in the 2200 block of Gap Road, unincorporated Gilpin County. Upon arrival it was determined that there were no injuries. Since the Colorado State Patrol was on accident alert, the driver was told to make a counter report. A routine clearance revealed three warrants for the driver’s arrest as well as a suspended driver’s license. The driver was jailed on the warrants and issued a proof of service.
On 4/12/19 at 3:12 p.m. two male parties were reported in a physical altercation in B-pod of Gilpin County Detention Center, unincorporated Gilpin County.
On 4/13/19 a deputy conducted a traffic stop in Rollinsville. The driver was later arrested for DUI.
On 4/14/19 deputies responded to an intoxicated party at the Grand Z Casino. All parties agreed to go to their room and call it a night. A short time later the same parties did not call it a night and began assaulting each other. Two females were arrested, and a male party was transported to detox.
On 4/14/19 a deputy stopped a vehicle for impeding regular traffic flow. The driver of the vehicle had drug paraphernalia in his lap and the passenger had a warrant. The passenger was arrested for the warrant and the driver received a summons.
On 4/16/19 a deputy conducted a traffic stop on south Highway 119. The driver was issued a summons for driving on a suspended license.
On 4/16/19 at approximately 4:27 p.m. deputies contacted two parties involved in a disturbance located at 10595 Highway 119, Black Hawk. One of the parties was found to have a warrant. The party with the warrant was arrested and booked into the Gilpin County Jail.
On 4/17/19 at approximately 11:05 a.m. a deputy responded to a casino in Black Hawk on a reported trespassing. When the deputy approached the suspect, the suspect began to flee on foot. The suspect was later taken into custody and the case was turned over to the Black Hawk Police Department.
On 4/19/19 at approximately 6:10 a.m. a Gilpin County Deputy performed a traffic stop at approximately mile marker 4.9 Highway 119. Driver was determined to have a suspended driver's license and the vehicle was not insured or registered. The driver was issued a summons and told not to drive.
On 4/19/19 a deputy responded to the 100 block of Karlann Drive on the report of a barking dog. The owner of the dog will be issued a summons.
On 4/20/19 a deputy observed a vehicle drive off Highway 119 at approximately mile marker 9.4, hit a large rock and the vehicle became airborne. A deputy conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle. The driver was later arrested for DUI at almost three times the legal limit.
On 4/21/19 a deputy conducted a traffic stop on Gregory Street in Central City. The driver was arrested for DUI and a passenger was issued a summons for throwing a meth pipe from the vehicle.
On 4/21/19 at approximately 11:45 a.m. a female was getting ready to post bond before two additional warrants were located for her.
On 4/22/19 a deputy conducted a traffic stop on Gregory Street in Central City. The driver was issued a penalty assessment and a passenger in the vehicle was arrested for violation of a protection order.
On 4/24/19 a deputy stopped a motorcycle for speeding near the Gilpin County School. The driver was found to be driving on a restrained license and issued a summons.
On 4/26/19 at approximately 4:15 a.m. a deputy responded to a welfare check in Central City. The deputy attempted to make contact with the party by knocking on the door, but there was no answer. The deputy walked around the house and found an open door. The deputy announced his presence several times before entering the house and there was no response. The deputy entered the house and found a male party deceased. A case report for the incident was completed.
On 4/26/19 at approximately 10 a.m. members of the Gilpin County Sheriff`s Office were requested to respond to Elk Park Rd and Apex Valley Road to assist Alpine Search and Rescue with a 36-year-old male, who became lost while snowshoes in the back country of Gilpin/Clear Creek County.
On 4/27/19 deputies contacted parties inside of a vehicle in the Century Casino parking garage. The parties were in possession of illegal drugs and had warrants.
On 4/28/19 at approximately 10 a.m. a male party came to bond out an individual and had three warrants of his own located. He was booked into Gilpin County Jail after trying to resist arrest.
On 4/28/19 a deputy conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle parked in the middle of Old Stage Coach Trail at Highway 119. The driver was arrested for DUI.
On 4/30/19 at 12:20 p.m. deputies responded to the report of a single vehicle crash on Highway 119 near mile marker 3.5. The vehicle and parties involved had been contacted by the sheriff's office earlier that day due to a verbal disturbance and drug offense. Deputies remained on scene to assist the Colorado State Patrol with a DUI and domestic violence investigation and traffic control. The driver was later cited by CSP and given a courtesy ride.
