On 4-1-18, a Deputy conducted a traffic stop on the Central City Pkwy and the driver was issued a summons for driving under restraint.
On 4-1-18, a Deputy contacted a suspicious vehicle on level three of the Grand Z Casino Parking Garage.
On 4-1-18, at approximately 9:44 a.m., a Deputy was conducting an area check of the Grand Z Parking Garage, and observed parties sleeping in a vehicle. The Deputy conducted a welfare check on the parties in the vehicle and one party was in violation of a protection order. The party was taken into custody.
On 4-1-18, at 12:35 p.m., Deputies responded to the 5000 block of Highway 72, unincorporated Gilpin County CO 80422, on the report of a motor vehicle crash. The lone occupant of the vehicle was found deceased on scene. Colorado State Patrol responded and completed an investigation.
On 4-1-18, a Deputy responded to a casino in Central City on a report of a wallet theft. After an investigation, the deputy was able to track down 2 suspects in the case. One of the suspects was issued a summons for the charge of theft.
On 4-1-18, a Deputy was on a seatbelt enforcement shift, when the Deputy observed a vehicle with no registration attached. The driver of the vehicle did not have a valid driver`s license and was not wearing his seatbelt. He was issued a summons.

On 4-2-18, a Gilpin Deputy received a report of a fraudulent telephone call made to a local resident. The resident received two recorded telephone calls claiming to be from the IRS. The calls were obviously fraudulent, and the resident did not give out any personal information. A follow up investigation was completed which yielded no leads to a suspect.

On 4-3-18, at approximately 10:20 a.m., a person was arrested on a warrant at the Gilpin County Courthouse and brought to the Gilpin County Detention Facility for processing.
On 4-3-18, a Deputy responded to a vehicle trespass in the Grand Z Parking Garage. Several items were taken from the vehicle, but a suspect could not be identified.
On 4- 3-18, at approximately 5:12 p.m., a Deputy contacted a male party at the intersection of Dostal Alley and Gregory Street for failing to stop at a stop sign as required, a citation was issued, and a case report was completed.

On 4-3-18, at approximately 7:05 p.m., a Deputy responded to a residence in the Dory Lakes subdivision on a report of a window being damaged, possibly by a BB. A report was completed, and no charges were filed at the reporting party`s request.

On 4-4-18, at approximately 11:10 p.m., a Deputy responded to the Aspen Springs subdivision on a report of 2 dogs at large running in the road. The deputy spoke with the reporting party and later issued the owner of one of the dogs a summons to appear in court. The owner of the other dog is unknown.
On 4-4-18, at approximately 11:32 p.m., a Deputy was dispatched to 415 Spring street Central City, Gilpin County, Colorado 80427 on a report of Trespassing. A male party was issued a summons and a Case Report was Completed.
0n 4-5-18, at approximately 1:00 p.m., a Deputy working their assigned shift at the Gilpin County Jail arrested one adult male and had him booked into the Gilpin County Jail on a warrant without incident.
On 4-5-18, at 1657 hours, a party came to the Gilpin County Sheriff`s Office, located at 2960 Dory Hill Rd, Black Hawk, Gilpin County CO, 80422, to report an identity theft. A report was taken.
On 4-6-18, at 1:33 p.m., A Deputy contacted a speeder on the 6800 block of Central City Parkway, in Central City. The violator was issued a summons for a suspended driver`s license, speeding and no proof of insurance.
On 4-6-18, a Deputy conducted a traffic stop on Gregory Street in Central City and the driver was arrested on a warrant.
On 4-7-18, a Deputy responded to Johnny Z`s Casino for the report of a hit and run accident between a bus and van. The hit and run driver was identified.
On 4-7-18, at approximately 2:03 p.m., a Deputy conducted a traffic stop at mile marker 6 on the Central City Parkway. The initial stop was for speeding and weaving and further investigation concluded the driver of the vehicle was believed to be intoxicated. The driver was taken into custody for driving under the influence of alcohol.

On 04-11-18, at approximately 1:20 a.m., Deputies responded to a casino in Central City on a reported trespass. A party that was previously 86’ed from the casino was currently on property. When deputies arrived, they met with casino staff who informed them they wanted to pursue criminal charges and the deputies attempted to locate the party. The party was later located off casino property and issued a summons to appear in court for trespassing.
On 4-11-18, at approximately 2:35 a.m., a Deputy observed a vehicle that had been red tagged on the Central City Parkway with the windows broken. Valuables were located inside the vehicle and the vehicle was impounded.
On 4-11-18, a Deputy contacted a party in the 5300 block of Highway 119, Gilpin County, Black Hawk, CO 80422, who had an active warrant. The party was arrested for the warrant and a report was later completed.

The party was later identified by another casino where the party had a player`s card. The deputy completed a case report and the case was forwarded to the investigations division.

The deputy found that a party was camping behind an abandoned building. She was given one day to move her property and be in compliance with the Camping ordinance.

On 4-23-18, a Deputy contacted a suspicious vehicle in the Grand Z Casino Parking Garage. A female party was later arrested for a felony warrant and possession of a controlled substance.

At that time, a proof of service was issued to a female party for a suspended driver`s license for insurance terminated.

The driver of the vehicle was found to have a warrant for his arrest. Drugs were also found on the male party. The male party was processed into the Gilpin County Jail without incident. On 4-23-18, a Deputy attempted to stop a motorcycle for a traffic violation. The motorcycle fled, a pursuit ensued and was terminated for public safety concerns.

On 4-24-18, at approximately 7:10 p.m., a Deputy was dispatched to a dog at large in the Colorado Sierra subdivision. The dog was picked up and transported to the Gilpin County Sheriff`s Office in an attempt to locate the owner. The dog did not have tags on its collar or a microchip, so no owner information was located. The deputy was later informed that the owner was en route to the jail to pick up the dog. The dog was released to the owner and the owner was issued a summons to appear in court.
On 4-25-18, at 5:25 p.m., an inmate currently in the Gilpin County Detention Facility was found to have an active warrant.
On 4-26-18, at 3:27 p.m., a Deputy investigated a one car property accident on the Central City Parkway at mile marker 7.5. The party was cited for careless driving and no proof of insurance.
On 4-26-18, a Deputy responded to a theft call at the Century Casino located 102 Main St., in Central City, Colorado. Suspect left the property prior to the officer arriving. The investigation is ongoing.
On 4-26-18, a Deputy conducted a traffic stop at approximately mile marker 5.8 Highway 119, Black Hawk, Gilpin County, CO 80427. The driver was arrested for false reporting to authorities and other traffic related charges. A report was later completed.

On 4-27-18, at 10:48 p.m., while on routine patrol, a Deputy stopped a vehicle for speeding at 6000 Central City Parkway, Central City CO 80427. The driver was found to have a cancelled driver`s license and was issued a summons and proof of service.
On 4-27-18, at approximately 11:07 a.m., a Deputy was dispatched to a reported theft of a vehicle license plate. The reporting party was calling from the 2900 block of Apex Valley Road, located in unincorporated Gilpin County, Colorado, 80422. A report was later completed, and the stolen license plate was entered into the NCIC/CCIC computer data system.
On 4-28-18, at approximately 11:28 h, a Deputy conducted a traffic stop on Highway 119. The driver of the vehicle was later placed under arrest for being in possession of suspected methamphetamine.
On 4-28-18, at approximately 3:30 a.m., a Deputy responded to a casino in Central City for a possible drug violation. During the investigation the 2 parties ran from the scene and were unable to be located. The deputy completed a report and applied for an arrest warrant for the parties that fled.
On 4-28-18, at 9:55 a.m., a Deputy responded to the 1700 block of Upper Moon Gulch Rd, unincorporated Gilpin County CO 80474 on the report of aggressive dogs. The dogs were captured and taken to an animal shelter pending release to the owners.

On 4-30-18, at 3:22 p.m., a Deputy met with a male in the lobby of the Gilpin County Sheriff`s Office, located at 2960 Dory Hill Rd, unincorporated Gilpin County CO 80422, reference a prior theft report. Based on prior interaction with the male and his erratic statements, a welfare check was performed. The male was found to not meet the criteria for a mental health hold.
