Antoinette Rose Anderson passed away on January 29, 2023, in Nederland, Colorado.

Antoinette was born Vera Annette Oliver on October 25, 1937, to Captain Bell Oliver and Ivy Mae Oliver in Los Angeles, California.

After graduating from Los Angeles High in 1955 Antoinette went on to pursue a lifelong study in spirituality, dance, and entrepreneurial venture. In 1978 she earned her real estate license in the state of Colorado. She also completed a degree with the University of Phoenix toward the beginning of the new millennium.

Antoinette always used work as an outlet for her boundless creativity. Over the span of her life she did everything from making and marketing frozen vegan cuisine in Los Angeles in the early 1970s to fashion design to teaching aerobics and dance to creative writing later in life. Ultimately she landed comfortably working for herself in the real estate sector. Antoinette was also a long time practitioner of yoga and dance.

Antoinette was a very active member in the Nederland Lions Club, helping to support the growing Nederland community. She organized programs to provide college scholarships to deserving students in the greater Nederland area. Her love for spreading joy amongst others made her a key figure in the culture of the town which she adored for over three decades.

Antoinette was an amazing wife, sister, mother, and grandmother. The voice of the family in both song and laughter. Throughout her wonderful time on earth she kept her family looking toward exuberance and joy as a north star. Antoinette still reminds us all to love always in all ways, to be grounded in our faith in each other, to blossom through the dreams we bring into the world and to never forget to shed love and light on our way.

Antoinette is survived by her beloved husband, Patrick Anderson; daughter, Lori Simpson; son, Brock Edwards; grandson, Clay Edwards; granddaughter, April Edwards; great-granddaughter, Ade Sanaa Yao Muna Edwards Gittenssmith; and sisters, Krishna Kaur Khalsa and LuJuana Tedford.

She was preceded in death by brothers, Albert Ray Oliver and Victor Edmund Oliver.

Antoinette is also survived by a vast network of beloved friends from all phases throughout her life. Everyone she crossed paths with who came away having experienced laughter and joy.

Services will be held at the Nederland Community Center on Saturday, April 22, from 9:30 - 11:30 a.m.
