On March 23, 2022, Lakota tribe member Anthony Galindo passed peacefully surrounded by family while a spiritual Lakota member performed a beautiful blessing, beating a drum and singing a Lakota prayer.

Anthony was born in Loveland, Colorado, to Kelley Crespin and Marcos Galindo. He was raised by his mother Kelley and his stepfather Ben Crispen. His grandmother Helen Yellowhorse and great-aunt Gloria Yellowhorse also helped raise him. Anthony called his mom, grandma and great-aunt all “mom”.

He learned to make Native American jewelry at a young age from the women who raised him. His mom and his sisters continue to create beautiful pieces of jewelry today. His family also taught him Native American traditions.

Anthony had one of the greatest smiles that lit up a room. He enjoyed living in the mountains and loved this community. He was a very skilled craftsman and a hard worker. Anthony started doing concrete work with his dad, Ben, at the age of 10. He started building houses with his father-in-law, Mike Shaw, at the age of 16. Anthony became a successful self-employed contractor in 2009. He built seven houses in Nederland along with many remodels, and additions. He was also a local snow plow driver. He supported his wife and mother-in-law at their many art shows. He was a great booth helper when they were displaying and selling their art.

Anthony’s cousin, Tyronne, introduced him to Roxanne Shaw. Roxanne and Anthony became teenage sweethearts. They were married in Nederland, Colorado, on November 3, 2005. They built a life together in Nederland with their two children Jordan and Anthony.

Anthony was an awesome skier and got an Eldora ski pass every year. He also taught his kids how to ski starting at the age of two. He was an excellent cook and had been teaching his daughter, Jordan, all of his favorite recipes which she greatly enjoyed. He loved spending the weekends going dirt bike riding and ATVing. Anthony taught his son, Anthony, how to be a great fisherman and he fished at Barker Reservoir all the time.

He loved his three sisters, his nieces and nephews and spending time with them.

Anthony was a jokester and prankster. Making people laugh brought him great joy.

Anthony Galindo is survived by his wife; Roxanne Shaw-Galindo, his daughter; Jordan Catherine (16), his son; Anthony Walker (11), parents; Ben and Kelley Crespin, siblings; Ashley Crespin, Maria Chavez, Kelley Crespin, parentsin law; Mike and Catherine Shaw, sister-in-law; Dusty Shaw (Chris Hardt), three nieces, three nephews, two aunts, great-uncle, four great aunts, multiple cousins and extended family.
