Ann DeMers passed away after a long illness on September 21. She was 77.
Ann was born in Los Angeles, California and grew up in San Francisco.

Archie M. Wedemeyer and Agnes W. Wedemyer, her parents, were Art teachers. Therefore, Ann grew up with a deep love and appreciation for the Arts.

She graduated from the University of Colorado with a degree in Education. She was a cheerleader and an avid skier, an interest that would stay with her most of her life. Her cheerleading team was recruited to open the first Broncos season that featured cheerleaders, so she was a Broncos cheerleader for a year.

Ann followed her parents into teaching. Since her teaching jobs were mostly on European military bases, she often took advantage of the close proximity of ski areas during her time overseas. She would also become a big fan of the Sun Valley ski resort during its development into a renown ski area.

She moved to the Nederland area and worked at B&F Mountain Market for many years. She paid careful attention to the habits of migratory birds, and looked forward to the arrival of the hummingbirds every year. She also trained search and rescue hounds, and kept a beloved dachshund.
Ann will be missed in her adopted hometown of Nederland.
