Dear Editor,
As I get older, I'm finding that some of the words and phrases I grew up using are slowly disappearing from the vernacular.
Every generation seems to have its own way of expressing agreement. One generation said "Groovy." Another said "Awesome," and these days I often hear people simply say, "Right?"
When I was younger, we had expressions like "Right on!," "You got that right!," and my favorite, "And how!"
So, for example, if someone were to say, "The Republican delegates showed poor judgment when they voted to place Victor Marx and Scott Bottoms on the Republican gubernatorial primary ballot. The Dems must be licking their chops." My instinctive response would be, "And how!"
Apparently my vocabulary is showing its age, but the point still stands: Colorado is better served when both parties put qualified candidates on the ballot.
