The Pioneer Inn has been the bar/restaurant and the “home away from home” for the musicians who recorded at Caribou Ranch, from Michael Jackson, Elton John, Stevie Wonder, Chicago, and many of Nederland’s local bands.
During the early 1900s, C.R. Watts ran the Pioneer Inn around the same time W.E. Binder ran the Nederland Post Office and owned the local cigar, tobacco, stationery, confections, souvenir, and postcard store.
