I’ve made it a habit of celebrating all my milestones, from professional success to achieving daily health goals. When friends invited me to join them at the Niwot Tavern for an early dinner, I couldn’t refuse an opportunity to celebrate.
That was the same week a lot happened. I accepted vulnerability in my life again and I realized the importance of allowing people into my heart. And who better to celebrate with than two friends who have proven to be more like family, as well as some of my biggest supporters?
The Niwot Tavern is small and offers those things you won’t find at other taverns, -- like the comfort of being among familiar faces you've just met. Some nights you may find a band playing, but you’ll always find friends simply having fun.
The size of the tavern is part of its charm. While the food may seem typical of a tavern, upon tasting it, you’d think you were at a fine dining establishment. The desserts are no exception, all but melting in your mouth, so sweet and savory.
The menu includes options for vegetarians, meat lovers, and those who prefer a Mediterranean diet. Everything is reasonably priced, too. If you need catering for your next event, you can contact the Niwot Tavern. They won’t disappoint.
I sat at a booth, listening to stories that evoked laughter, adding to the home-like ambiance. I looked around, noticing many smiling faces, overhearing greetings that sounded like weekly traditions.
The appetizer arrived, and I was impressed with its presentation: delicately placed on dishes, creating a mouth-watering art form. Ahi was served on a plate decorated with a colorful salad and spring rolls displayed as flowers.
With fork in hand, I dug into my entree, a canvas of grilled salmon and vegetables, allowing all the flavors to dominate my taste buds. I could have eaten two servings, but I wanted to save room for dessert.
Though I wanted badly to eat one of everything, I opted for the carrot cake to complement my dinner. The plan, however, is to try everything on the tavern’s menu, including desserts. Needless to say, I would rate the Niwot Tavern a “must-experience in Colorado,” and the perfect place for any celebration.
No, many wouldn’t consider the Niwot Tavern a thrilling place, but that’s exactly the reason why it’s so spectacular.
The Niwot Tavern is located at 7960 Niwot Road, Unit D12, Niwot. You can find their website at www.niwottavern.com, see them on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/NiwotTavern, or call them at 303-652-0200.
