Dear Nederland Students, Teachers, Administration, Parents, and Community,

My heart is so full of gratitude to  all of you for showing me so much love and kindness these 40 years of teaching.

The alumni concert, the Impact Awards and the retirement party were the highlights of my career. Thank you to all the people who organized the “surprise party.” I know that took so much time and effort and funding and I am so blessed that you made it happen. I am also glad the surprise was revealed and I could have some time to get ready for the party.

I was so overwhelmed with the amount of people who came from the class of 1986 and all the way to 2025. I saw so many people that mean so much to me and I did not get to connect with everyone, but I would like to connect soon. It was so impactful to hear from community members and students from the stage. My little introverted personality was flooded with emotions and I wished I could express my true love and emotions at the event, but I want you to know how much I love and appreciate all of you.

Nederland is the best place to teach in the whole world. The students and the teachers, parents and community members are all  amazing. This community is loving and giving and so supportive. 

The new music and theater teacher is so great and a perfect fit for Nederland. She said that Nederland is her dream job just like I said so many decades ago.

Keep supporting live music and theater in Nederland. Our kids deserve all the best educational and practical opportunities. Please keep the theater and music going strong!
