A-CERS, Blue Sox tie for first

Barbara Lawlor, Gilpin County.   Five weeks into the season and the outcome is still a toss-up, with the A-CERS and the Blue Sox running neck to neck down to the finish, each with seven wins and three losses.

 

The Gilpin County Adult Co-Ed Softball League has settled down into a rhythm with the teams knowing who does what well and sometimes just grateful they managed to put together the numbers to take the field.

 

The Gillbillies are on an even keel in third place with five wins and five losses and both Eldora and the Blue Sox suffered a forfeit last Thursday. This puts Eldora with a 1 in the win column for the first time this season.

 

There are no games scheduled for the Fourth of July week, but play will resume on Tuesday, July 10, with the tension mounting to see who will win league play.

 

The Tonya Putnam Memorial Double Elimination Tournament will be on Saturday, July 28, 2018. Who will take home the trophy?
