Dear Editor,
The Nederland Community Presbyterian Church (NCPC) would like to express a BIG thank you to the mountain community! With the support of our community, NCPC was able to raise over $7,000 in a combination of private donations, business sponsorships, and sales of over 160 Christmas wreaths supporting the Rise Against Hunger Nederland community event (held 9/28/2023).These funds support the purchase of the food products and transportation of the 10,000 meals packaged in Nederland to third world countries fighting hunger.
There were over 70 individuals in September at the Rise Against Hunger packaging event helping to actualize this “giving to others” event. Thank you especially to the businesses “sporting” a Rise Against Hunger Christmas wreath at their business this year!
NCPC is continuing to support Rise Against Hunger on Sunday December 17 with a First Annual Christmas Cookie Baking Contest 12 – 2 p.m. at NCPC. No entry fee with community judging for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prizes. Coffee available for donations. For information: Contact Roxanne at 612-805-9606.
