Taylor Johnson, Nederland. With all this new tech coming out, it’s no wonder schools have been replacing paper and a pencil with machinery.

At NMSHS, students have been taking Chromebooks from the Chromebook carts for testing, but on January 18, 2018, the 6th and 9th graders of Nederland Middle Senior High School will be getting their own personal Chromebooks.
These kids will only have to make a payment of $45 a year. After four years, they get to keep their computers for life.
Families who can’t afford these payments are required to sign up for free and reduced lunch, so they can then receive support.
This program, called 1:Web, will continue to give Chromebooks to every 6th and 9th grade class in the years to come.
Students will use their Chromebooks for online testing, projects, assignments, and much more. If they can’t charge them at their own houses they will have the choice of leaving it at school overnight to recharge.
Now, with 1:Web, all 6th and 9th graders can digitally connect with society and achieve online learning from their very own device.
