A 4th generation working man in the construction business, Brandon offers professional, responsive, and old school driven service with Dig Excavation. He worked his way from the dirt, having been a laborer for carpenters, demolition crews, block masons, arborists, and eventually- small to heavy civil contractors. With over 15 years of multi faceted experience in residential and commercial construction, he comes from a powerful background of how things get done efficiently in the field. It really all began when he was just a boy, tinkering on a tree fort with his father, then doing grunt work on residential projects. After some hustling in the trenches, he’d find himself gaining experience as an operator and foreman on multi million dollar jobs overseen by the Army Corps of Engineers. Brandon was mentored and hammered into to have great attention to detail where it counts, and a high level of urgency for deadlines, with every customer in mind. Whether you’re clearing land, cutting and pouring a foundation, or replacing an Advanced Wastewater Treatment System (Septic), Brandon ensures your project is ahead of schedule. After moving to Boulder in 2005, he came to Nederland a couple years later. Brandon began building his own home in 2012, solidifying roots in Nederland. His neighbor, Mark Smith(RIP) would come to show him a few mountain excavating tricks, to boot. From his own experience sub contracting projects(and working with local trades), he saw a demand for reliable, accountable tradesmen that would bid tight, and work full days(You’d think that wouldn’t be a question, right?!- welcome to the mountains). Dig Excavation was born. He has since founded Nederland Builders Group, a mountain area trades collective, where the best in the business can work as a team, tackling local projects more efficiently. Brandon is also now launching Senders Collective, a local based charity to provide outdoor sports gear to less fortunate children. In his free time, you’ll catch him on the slopes at Eldora, pretending to be Maverick in a small plane over the Rockies, or Running his 3 dogs around local Front Range trails. Contact Brandon personally with any project. Dig will get your job finished on, or before projected deadline. Go with Dig, and maximize your environment by decreasing negative impact.

A Colorado Mountain Winery Augustina's Winery is a one-woman winery and was the first winery in Boulder County, Colorado. Started in 1997 by owner and winemaker, Gussie Walter, and making wine for the folks who like to have adventures, then laugh about them later on while having a glass of easy drinkin' local wine. All of my wines are made from Colorado grown grapes. I do all of the production at the winery in Nederland. Many of the varietals come from vineyards on the Western slope, but I also get some from local growers in Boulder County and from vineyards on the Eastern Plains of Colorado. I currently have 12 wines available….seven dry reds, two dry whites, one semi-sweet white, one slightly-sweet rose, and one cherry wine . Wines are available for purchase, by the glass, or for tasting. Wine-tasting $3.00 for five wines. The winery is still open for purchase by the bottle, but no wine-tastings or glasses of wine. Current open hours: Thursday, Friday, Saturday 1-6pm, Sunday and Monday, 1-5pm. Read more: Augustina’s Winery - The Mountain-Ear (themtnear.com)

The Peak to Peak Housing and Human Services Alliance brings human services organizations together that serve Western Boulder County and Eastern Gilpin County as well as limited sections of Larimer County and Jefferson Counties (aka The Peak to Peak Region, and including the towns of Ward, Nederland, Gold Hill, Jamestown, Rollinsville, Allenspark as well as large unincorporated areas at elevation). Western Boulder County houses thousands of hardy souls who have chosen to put up with the complications of living at altitude, despite its weather and terrain challenges. Such isolation, however, also means that access to human services can be limited. The Peak to Peak Housing and Human Services Alliance was formed in 2012 at the request of Nederland Mayor Joe Gierlach, to provide an opportunity for local & county non-profits and governmental entities to communicate face-to-face, with the intention of bringing more services to mountain residents. The group has been meeting monthly ever since, and now includes over 20 member organizations.

She has an extensive background in real estate with over 30 years of experience. After completing her Bachelor's degree at St. Lawrence University and her Masters of Education at the University of San Diego, Candace spent 10 years in real estate, concentrating on sales, marketing, and the design, development, management and sales of both residential and investment properties. She transitioned to the financial side and served as the VP of a locally owned mortgage company for 21 years where she gained a strong knowledge base in construction, government, conventional, portfolio and jumbo loans along with credit counseling. Committed to a caring and conscientious approach, she dedicates herself to top-level service, education of clients and maintaining long-term relationships. Candace is not only devoted to the business of Colorado real estate, she's devoted to the Colorado outdoor lifestyle through her horses, hiking, and skiing. This lends itself perfectly to her real estate specialties of horse, foothill and mountain properties.
New and Used clothing and accessories We love to recycle and reuse! Why buy new when there is so much out there that has plenty of life left in them? There are multiple environmental benefits associated with recycling clothing. It reduces the amount of pesticides used in growing cotton or to make fabrics from petroleum sources and the water needed to dye fabrics. It cuts down on the pollutants, greenhouse gases and volatile organic compounds released into the water and air from manufacturing processes. Customers who buy used clothing also benefit from what are usually substantially lower prices, compared to the price of new clothes. Recycled clothing also creates jobs at charity organizations or consignment stores. We depend on locals to make our business successful! If there is anything we can carry or can do differently, please let us know! We keep our prices low to keep our inventory moving and to satisfy our customers. Drop in and see us!

Sacred Mountain Journeys In the forest just outside of Nederland, many people go to seek peace, serenity and a way to carry on with the hectic pace that modern life now seems to require to survive. At Sacred Mountain Journeys, you can find that peace in the comfort of a beautiful lodge setting with a tribe of like-minded people all seeking the same experience. With a retreat itinerary that is loose and flowing, using The Sacred Elements, music, wholesome food and easy, frequent access to the outdoors, Cindy and Herm Weaver developed the retreat lodge as part of their on-going recovery from the traumatic loss of their daughter, Chloe. It is with the intention of helping others find a way to deal with loss, life challenges, or life transitions that they offer retreats like Sacred Mountain Journeys. Participants are offered activities such as Forest Bathing, journaling, meditation, music making and fire side chats. Best Liquor Store by a Dam Site, since 1992. Since before the days of prohibition, some people will say “damn liquor,” but condemnation is not the usual sentiment when referring to this long-time local establishment, and Scott Havnes has put plenty of time in to prove it. Opening the store back in August of 1992, he and then partner, Kent Bartlow, bought the trade name from Brian Joyce along with the beer compressor and cooler door and moved it from its original spot in the building now occupied by Century 21 Peak Performance Group, to its current location in the Caribou Shopping Center. Scott has spent a lot of time not just selling product but studying it. Questions on wine? Scott has 41 years of wine experience. Having spent time in France studying wine, he actually brought a label back to the Boulder area to start. He offers weekly wine tastings from 3 p.m. -7 p.m. on Saturdays during off season and over the summer on both Fridays and Saturdays. Need special orders? You can get a 10 percent discount when you buy a case of six bottles. While Scott has spent time painstakingly developing his wine selection, his store also features a solid beer and liquor selection with new products coming in as they appear on the market. Dam Liquor also features special event ordering for parties and weddings with 2 weeks advance notice. Call 303-258-9002 for more details. Dam Liquor is open all 7 days with summer hours from 9 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday. Located conveniently next to the grocery store, in Nederland. Don’t forget to ask about the Dam punch card for discounts!
