Yohan’s features donuts, lunch

Posted

Yohan’s of Central City is best known for its donuts. They work out of a food truck near RMO Distillery and next to the Post Office in Central City.

Owner John Graul said they lease the lot from the Dispensary. They opened on March 4, 2023, and are open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. They deliver donuts to retailers in the area, including Peak to Peak Market in Black Hawk on Mondays and Wednesdays.

In addition to donuts, they have burritos, sandwiches, Frito pies, and beverages. Graul said he worked at Mayor Willie’s from January 2020 to October 22, 2021. Then he decided to open this shop.

Yohan’s has the lease for the land until September 30, when Central City will decide whether the business can keep the space. Graul says his favorite donut is the Classic glazed, but they’re all good.

His inspiration for starting the business was that there were no bakeries in the area, so it seemed like it would be a positive asset to the community. There are no other donut shops in the area.

What are the business features? Donuts, breakfast burritos, coffee/ espresso drinks, homemade meatball sandwiches

He enjoys being self-employed. He has no employees and just the two owners with extensive food service backgrounds.
