Dear Editor,
Like every candidate, Marie Mornis faces many issues in our county commissioner's race. But consider the Community Center as a metaphor, or a template, for how Gilpin County is managed.
We have seen the Community Center go from a seven-days-a-week operation to a four-days-a-week, curious. Marie Mornis always promotes fiscal responsibility and budgetary prudence — things every taxpayer wants. But she faces a two-to-one fight on just about every vote.
To keep our county's fiscal health and political integrity, we need Marie Mornis (and other like-minded candidates) serving as county commissioner. Our future depends on it.
