Vitalant and Ameristar Casino Resort and Spa Black Hawk are encouraging the community to give thanks this holiday season by donating blood to help patients in need. Every two seconds a patient in the U.S. needs a blood transfusion.
Donors of all blood types are needed every day to help patients across Colorado. Type O is especially needed – Type O blood is the most transfused blood type. O-negative is the universal blood type and is what emergency room personnel reach for when there is not time to determine a patient’s blood type.
