Our mountain communities have been extremely fortunate in accessing affordable and inclusive health care. After months of negotiation, Clinica Family Health (CFH) opened offices in both Nederland and mid-Gilpin County two years ago, in June of 2022. Now that important health care for our community has grown more comprehensive.
On Monday, June 10, Mental Health Partners (MHP) and Clinica announced their intention to merge into one health organization.
Mental Health Partners has been serving Boulder County since it opened its doors in 1962, offering services for kids, teens, parents, and senior citizens. Now the merger will bring physical and behavioral services and oral healthcare to our mountain community.
The merger is planned for September 2024 and will be known as Clinica Family Health & Wellness. MHP and CFH have shared similar missions and have served the same communities for over three decades. Merging MHP and CFH will provide residents with the most comprehensive care possible.
Simon Smith, President & CEO of Clinica, says “More than anything else, this merger is about our patients and clients….When someone is seeking health and healing, they don’t want to navigate a difficult landscape of referrals, hunt for new providers, and explain their medical history over and over from the beginning. They want seamlessly coordinated care from providers they’ve built lifelong relationships with and better access to specialists when they need them.”
Jen Leosz, soon to be Chief Integrated Health Officer of the combined organization, adds “By setting up an environment for strong communication among your team of providers, we can accomplish shared goals for improved health much more effectively. In our history of doing this work together, MHP and Clinica have already seen measurable, positive results reported directly by our patients and clients.”
According to the press release, the Board of Directors for Clinica Family Health & Wellness will be comprised of CFH and MHP board members. A majority of board members will continue to be patients who receive services.
Come September, Peak to Peak residents will be able to enjoy the new services of the combined organizations. The Nederland office is at 80 Big Springs Drive, Suite 102. The Gilpin office is at 972 Golden Gate Canyon Road, Suite 300.
