Dear Editor,
We can probably agree that the recently completed campaign season in Gilpin County was stressful on several levels, especially given the turmoil surrounding our divided nation which showed up even in our tiny County. That being said, I want to thank you, the voters of the County, for persevering, voting for your values, and supporting the electoral process.
Of course, I want to particularly express appreciation for the voters who decided to support the Democratic candidates that we put forward. In my opinion, they were the best candidates to take the County forward in a fiscally responsible and compassionate manner. In addition, there were many individuals who volunteered their time campaigning and their homes for events in support of our candidates.
There were also many citizens of all parties who volunteered hours of their time as election judges to ensure the balloting process went as smoothly as possible. This was no small task. A special thank you to all of you!
Sincerely,
Eric Douglas
Chair, Gilpin County Democrats
