Spring means MFP Yard Sale

Posted

Dear Editor,

It must be Spring! The rain has been falling, the aspens are budding and the 38th Annual Mountain Forum for Peace Yard Sale is upon us again. If you’re familiar with this event, you know how amazing it is to see the Nederland Community Center transformed in five short days from a gym, multi-purpose room and surrounding hallways to a full-blown department store. If you have not been, you most certainly do not want to miss out. From clothing, sporting goods and kitchen wares, from jewelry, kids toys and games, from tools, furniture and artworks, the sale has it all! The pricing is always with intent to pass on gently used things, at a price that benefits the buyer whilst helping out an amazing homegrown non-profit, The Mountain Forum for Peace.

If you would like to donate gently used items, the drop off times are: Sunday May 28, Tuesday May 30, and Wednesday May 31, 11 a.m. - 6 p.m.

Please note, we can not accept broken, incomplete or torn items. If you haven’t had the time or means to fix it, don’t expect that someone else might. Also, no particle board furniture, mattresses, cribs, car seats. For a more complete list, check out the Mountain Forum for Peace Facebook page.

The Great Sale itself is Friday, June 2 and Saturday, June 3, 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. and Sunday June 4, 9 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. (half price) and 12 - 1 p.m. (free).

We are always happy to accept volunteer help. It does take a village to make this happen, so feel free to bring your gloves and dig in.
