The owner of Gapter Septic Pumping and Services, Collin Gapter, is also doing business as Acme Septic. He has been the owner of Gapter Septic since March 2022 and took over Acme in April 2023.
Gapter is the third generation of his family in the septic industry on the Front Range. He says, “My grandfather started Gapter Septic Systems in 1960. My dad and uncle took over his business in 1998.”
He began working in the family business in the summer of 2008 while still in high school. In 2010, he started a full-time position. “I’ve gotten to know many of the systems in the area firsthand since I helped install them and gained a lot of knowledge about proper maintenance and troubleshooting during that time,” shares Gapter.
Gapter also watched his Uncle Steve Steffek build Acme Septic, which also instilled the idea of “being able to work as a one-man crew.” When Steffek was nearing retirement, Gapter was “inspired to get a truck and start pumping.”
Gapter wants to make a name for himself in the septic industry his family “has been so involved in over many decades.” After many years of learning how to install septics, Gapter has learned septic systems inside and out, allowing him to give thoughtful advice and insight into best practices for systems.
Gapter runs the truck and daily operations, while sister Ashley Leone handles scheduling and billing. They love “being able to help people by getting their systems running again when they have issues and also to help them better understand their septic systems as a part of their home.”
From septic pumping and maintenance to inspections and property transfers, Gapter provides the same “level of friendly service and personability that people have come to expect from Acme after all these years.”
If you live in Boulder, Gilpin, Jefferson, or Larimer County and need septic services, Gapter will provide the service you need. With higher call volumes, Gapter wishes to share, “email is a great way to reach us at acmeinc.87@gmail.com or gapterpumping@gmail.com.”
