Some words for the week

shredded black plastic bag
suspended in a leafless tree
above the road
looks like some
floating cloaked figure
or even death itself
as I wait for the light to
change
ironic though
that I could mistake this
material
this crude oil byproduct
in everything
as dead
for we are much more mortal
than it
and these phantoms
light as air
will float this world forever
or at least much longer than us
