Peak Perspectives: Refresh, reflect, renew

Posted

Whew what a week it’s been! In just 10 days we have put three publications to press. Tonight we’ll wrap this paper and then tomorrow we will go pickup papers and Taste of the Peaks guides in Boulder.

After that, I will wrap up about a dozen things and I will head out for a family trip. It’s Spring Break, friends. This is the first time we will go out of town since 2021. We’ve been adjusting to a shift in work loads, having a very active teenager that is in his junior year, closing out a couple of projects and refocusing a little on health and happiness. To take one week off, takes about a month of planning. And then afterwards, it takes about a month to catch up on all that is missed. This is the first year, in 16, I feel like everything is just okay. I feel like we have such a strong team right now, things will flow beautifully.

Each week I try to thank so many people that are a part of this big puzzle that is the newspaper. But here, I’m going to just focus on a few. I want to say a huge thank you to my husband, Doug Armitage, for his unending support through this process. And another huge thank you to my son Hayden, for knowing how to help and always asking if he can do anything to make things easier. Beyond the people “in” my household, I have so much support from my family overall.

This week, we had an extra long Town Hall and meeting, so I’m giving up some of my personal column space to make sure you have all of the latest and greatest news. Enjoy!
