This week I want to share a heartfelt congratulations to all of our staff for their hard work during 2022. Ten of us attended the 145th Annual Colorado Press Association conference this past week. We attended over 20 different sections of the event with panels, working groups, a legislative session, several meals and ended it all with the annual awards banquet.
We sponsored the Young professionals reception, met a handful of interns and even had ice cream outside to enjoy an afternoon break. (I had the dairy free strawberry banana myself.)
This was the first time I stayed down there for the entire conference and I have to say, it was lovely overall. The feeling of being part of something so much bigger than us, was awesome. Learning so many amazing things and bringing back so many packets of information was incredible. I learned more in four days than I could research on my own in several months. The speakers were phenomenal and put a new spin on some of our old processes and procedures.
Anyway, here is our list of awards. We have five journalists that won eight awards and we took home the Sweepstakes award for Excellence in Other/Mixed Media: Class 6. Classes are determined by the number of original pieces we run each month. Next year we will level up at a couple more with all the unique content we are publishing these days.

And congratulations to our neighbors from the Weekly Register-Call, who also took home over a handful of awards. It was nice to see so many locals down the hill, celebrating quality journalism and sharing stories.
In other news, our printer/copier arrived this week. That means we can now offer the service of designing/ printing and copying materials for you. We’re still going through training, but we know we will be offering the basics including color and black/white copying, printing, brochures (2 and 3 panel), flyers and more. These services will be available in our Nederland office at 98 W. 1st Street. We will have regular hours posted this week!
We have some really cool stuff happening and can’t wait to share more about it. All kinds of new projects are coming down the pike.
