Dear Editor,
It was a dark, cold, windy, winter night during the pandemic. I worked from home, and only went out when absolutely necessary; meaning to get mail and groceries about twice a month. When suddenly I heard a knocking at my front door that startled me.
I got up and went to open the door, to see tail-lights slowly heading down the driveway. Then I looked down. Inside the white plastic bag that blended in with the snow was a couple of library books. However, not just library books.
They were delivered by a kind person from the Nederland Community Library. Much gratitude to the folks of the Nederland Community Library. They live, model, and exemplify what the word-phrase “Community” in their name is really all about.
A hearty shout-out to my “book angel” Cathy Grace; and to Electra, whose openness and vision as the Head Librarian of a community library goes so beyond being a purveyor of books.
