PEAK TO PEAK – It was a day to remember at Timberline Fire Protection District as Nino, a local boy who adores firefighters, got the surprise of a lifetime and was named an honorary firefighter.
Fire crews at Station 5 warmly welcomed Nino, presenting him with a personalized, authentic fire helmet made just for him.
His eyes lit up as he toured the station, explored the fire engines, and asked plenty of questions about life at the firehouse.
Nino was thrilled to climb into Engine 55 for a ride with the crew, including blaring the sirens. Then, to cap it off, he had lunch around the table with his new firefighter family.
For Timberline, it was just as special as it was for their newest recruit.
“These moments remind us why we do what we do,” one firefighter said.
