Nederland, handle its own issues first

Dear Editor,

If Nederland is not capable, or, will not fund its own police department, how is it possible - or sensible - for it to even remotely fantasize of buying Eldora Ski Resort?

The concept of Nederland even considering a possible ski resort acquisition - is delusion - even IF it figures out how to effectively operate the Town of Nederland, Nederland Police Department, Nederland Fire Department, Infrastructure, Downtown Development, Parking, Schools, Housing, Zoning, Taxation, Health Care, Transportation, etc.

How many Nederland Mayors have we had in 7 years?

How many Mayor resignations have we had in 7 years?

How many Fire Nederland Fire Chiefs have been removed/or left the position?

How many ballot recalls in 8 years?

Who or what, or how many Town Managers/Administrators in 10 years?

How many Trustees of the B.O.T. in 20 years?

Where is a legitimate Nederland Police Department-adequately staffed and funded?

Where is child care, affordable housing, or improved Social Service?

What continuity of Government Services remains intact over 10 years?

How many local businesses and employees have been retained/or-Forced to leave Nederland due to Town of Nederland policy?

I am severely disappointed and offended by the Town of Nederland and its ineffective and arrogant status. So, we get what we pay for, I guess.

I invite the Town of Nederland to demonstrate to the Public, the State of Colorado, Nederland residents - and All - that it is capable - or not - to handle its own issues first - and finally - before setting us all up for another sad Failure to perform.
