Mountain businesses thrive Part 4

Meadow Mountain Café has been offering up mountain cuisine since 1946.

Food is known to bring people together by its comforting nature, and at the Meadow Mountain Cafe, the St. John family has been carrying on the tradition of making residents and tourists happy through delicious homemade dishes.

The family took over the cafe in 2007, but it opened in 1946 and had two owners before the St. Johns bought the establishment. In 2023, Meadow Mountain Cafe celebrated its 77th anniversary, and as long as the St. John family has people to feed, they will continue doing what they love.

The Meadow Mountain Cafe is located at 441 Business Highway 7, Allenspark. You can find them on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/meadowmtncafe or you can give them a call at 303-747-2541.

The Hilltop Guild started early in the 1930s, as an informal gathering of local women, which continued to grow throughout the years. In 1948, Grace Day, Mamie McAllister, Leona Trevarton, Vera Rubendall, and Ethel White officially named the group the Hilltop Guild.

Six years later, the name was recorded with the Secretary of State’s Office. The guild is not a club, society, or commercial venture. The guild is a productive and creative association made up of residents from the area.

In 2023, the Hilltop Guild celebrated its 75th year of returning the fruits of their labor to areas of need in the greater Allenspark community.

The Hilltop Guild is located at the Kelley House at 18720 Highway 7, Allenspark. You can find them on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/TheHilltopGuild or you can give them a call at 303-747-2001.
