Brand new this season, partnered with Central City Opera (CCO), is Serendipity Catering’s services to the “Lunch and a Song” event. Serendipity Catering fills the Teller House in Central City to the brim with a variety of eating experiences from casual meals to fine dining.

Before matinee performances of this season’s Shakespeare-inspired opera festival with CCO, the Teller House next door serves up a treat for both the ears and taste buds. CCO’s “Lunch and a Song” features a thirty-minute, operatic solo performance from a member of the Bonfils-Stanton Foundation Artists Training Program as well as an early lunch provided courtesy of Serendipity Catering.

Sales Operations Manager of Central City Opera, Deb Mountain explained how special it is for the opera performers to have the chance to perform for the lunch attendees. “It truly gives young artists the opportunity to show their craft, and that is a big deal. Breaking into opera is not easy,” said Mountain.

While this may be Serendipity Catering’s first season working with Central City Opera, this is not their first partnership with an arts program. The company has venues with the Denver Center for the Performing Arts, the Museum of Contemporary Art Denver, and the Holiday Theater. In addition to hosting “Lunch and a Song” in the Teller House, Serendipity Catering also runs and operates the two restaurants in the Teller House establishment: Rouge and Face Bar.

Not only is the Teller House special due to its age, but there are a few details in the decor that make the building unique. One of these examples is the painted mural of a woman’s face on the barroom floor; the artwork for which the restaurant, Face Bar, was named.

Amy Lopez, the director of public relations for Serendipity Catering, explains the consideration that went into the meals offered by these establishments. “Each of these [menus] were curated by our chefs specific to each service style… we’re really fortunate to have this partnership and it’s been really fun so far,” said Lopez.

The “Lunch and a Song” events will be continuing until August 5. Tickets are $30 each and can be either purchased online or through the opera’s box office. Be sure to check out CCO’s festival schedule for other events and shows.
