Shawn Clutter, devoted father and dear friend, passed away unexpectedly at his home in St. John’s, Arizona, on January 8, 2024, of natural causes. He was 53.
Originally from West Virginia, Shawn and his two middle-school-aged daughters, Cheyenne and Sierra, moved to Gilpin County around 2009. Shawn, his then wife Lisa, and his mother, Sherry Ritchea, supported the girls as they made their way through Nederland Middle-Senior High School.
He recently retired to St. John’s, Arizona, where he happily raised goats and chickens with his new wife, Lisa Stoddard Elliott.
Last August Shawn helped welcome his grandson, Silas into the world, and in October he attended the wedding of his eldest daughter, Cheyenne. He will be greatly missed by family and friends who remember his generous heart, his infectious laugh, and his constant willingness to help family and friends.
Shawn is survived by his mother, Sherry Ritchea of West Virginia; his ex-wife, Lisa Zervos of Golden, Colorado; his wife, Lisa Stoddard Elliott of St. John’s, Arizona; his daughter Cheyenne Clutter and her spouse Leejay Guyton of Nederland; his daughter and son-in-law Sierra and Jules Medina, and their son John Silas Medina, as well as many other friends and extended family.
