Gilpin voters react to campaigning

Posted

Dear Editor,

During my campaigning efforts I observed that most Gilpin County citizens are beautiful and respect each other.  However, I was called various names by some as they announced their IQ while driving by. Some did a U turn and screamed from a distance  expressing their thoughts about my clothing or parking position on the side of the highway. They would drive away very fast when I offered them to come and talk to me.  People acting like this use words and have no actions, are scared, insecure, have no facts, and are just plain angry. Those who honked and waved put a smile on my face and kept me going. Thank you.

Election time brings out the worst and the best in people. The few bad apples have a terrible effect on those that want to live peacefully. All they want to do is share their their bad choices in life by expressing their anger attempting to drag us down to their level. DON'T submit to them.

I even offered those angry bullies on Social media to stop by and talk like two mature adults. I announced my location, date, and time. Did they show up? NO. I learned that these people are weak, scared, chest puffing, chumps. Keyboard warriors as they say.

Some of you readers, as noted above, will be ecstatic that after 58 wonderful years in Colorado and 33 years in Gilpin it is time to say goodbye. Remember, elections have consequences. Good luck and I'll miss most of you.
