On 6/1/23, at approximately 8:12 p.m., Gilpin County deputies responded to the area of Highway 119 and Highway 46, for the report of a vehicular assault that had occurred. Deputies talked with the reporting party who was unable to get a license plate. A report was taken.
On 6/1/23, at approximately 10:07 p.m., deputies were dispatched to 420 Bobtail Circle, Central City, in reference to a dog issue. A report was taken.
On 6/2/23, at approximately 9:20 a.m., a deputy was dispatched to the 100 block of Mystic Lane, Black Hawk, on the report of a cold assault and welfare check. A report was taken.
On 6/3/23, at approximately 1:25 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to the 100 block of Beethoven Drive, Black Hawk, on the report of criminal mischief. A report was taken.
On 6/2/23, a corporal in the Gilpin County Jail was advised that an inmate was using another inmate's phone account to make calls. The corporal investigated the situation later finding out that a male party who is currently incarcerated in the Gilpin County Jail was violating a protection order. Upon this finding the corporal filed new charges on the inmate. Evidence was collected and uploaded to e-discovery and the inmate was arrested on a second booking for this violation of protection order and booked in without incident.
On 6/3/23, a deputy responded to Rollinsville for a disturbance and possible mental health crisis. It was determined that no one on scene wished to pursue criminal charges.
On 6/3/23, a man's phone was stolen from the Bonanza Casino.
On 6/4/23, at approximately 9:50 a.m., a deputy conducted a welfare check on an individual in the Grand Z parking garage, Central City. The individual was issued a criminal summons on drug related charges.
On 6/4/23, at around 12:26 p.m., deputies were dispatched to the 100 block of Meadow Way Drive, Black Hawk, on the report of a disturbance. A male party was arrested and booked into the Gilpin County Jail on multiple charges.
On 6/4/23, a deputy re-booked a male on multiple felony and misdemeanor charges.
On 6/5/23, a male headbutted a deputy sheriff. The male was arrested.
On 6/5/23, at approximately 4:10 p.m., deputies responded, emergent, to the report of a disturbance in progress located in the 3000 block of Gamble Gulch Road, unincorporated Gilpin County. A report was taken.
On 6/6/23, at approximately 9:15 a.m., a deputy responded to the Gilpin County Court Room for a male party who was remanded. The male party was taken into custody and booked into the Gilpin County Jail without incident.
On 6/6/23, at approximately 11:30 a.m., a Gilpin County deputy took an information report about a possible violation of a protection order at 554 Old Hughesville Road, Black Hawk.
On 6/6/23, at approximately 10:27 a.m., an active, valid warrant was discovered for a person in custody at the Gilpin County Detention Facility. The person was arrested and processed on the warrant.
On 6/6/23, a deputy was dispatched to a disturbance on Claudius Road. It was determined that two male parties were yelling at each other regarding an animal problem. A citation was issued for 2 counts of dog at large.
On 6/6/23, at approximately 6:24 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to the 3000 block of Gamble Gulch Road, Black Hawk, in reference to a disturbance and a female party was transported to the hospital on a mental health hold.
On 6/6/23, a deputy took a report of a theft/fraud case. The case is active and
still under investigation.
On 6/7/23, a deputy responded to a rollover motor vehicle accident on Highway 46. State Patrol arrived on scene and conducted their investigation, which led to the arrest of the driver for driving under the influence of alcohol.
On 6/7/23, a female was arrested for a felony warrant.
On 6/8/23, at approximately 7:01 p.m., deputies were dispatched to the area of Lawrence Street and Spring Street, Central City, in reference to an assault in progress. A report was completed.
On 6/9/23, a deputy took a report of a cold burglary/theft from a residence under construction. A report was made.
On 6/9/23, a deputy took several firearms for safekeeping on a court order.
On 6/10/23, at approximately 5:54 a.m., deputies responded to the 5000 block on Highway 46, unincorporated Gilpin County, on the report of an accident between a car and a deer. The driver was uninjured and the deer had to be put down. A report was taken.
On 6/10/23, a deputy took a report of a missing wallet. The party felt it had
been stolen. A report was made.
On 6/10/23, a counterfeit bill was turned into deputies.
On 6/10/23, a male was injured in a OHV accident.
On 6/11/23, at approximately 5:52 a.m., deputies were dispatched to the Dragon Tiger Casino, 132 Lawrence Street on the report of a burglary in progress. A party was arrested on unrelated warrants.
On 6/11/23, at approximately 3:26 p.m., a deputy responded to the report of fraud at the Dragon Tiger Casino,132 Lawrence Street, Central City. A report was taken.
On 6/12/23, a deputy took a phone report of fraud.
On 6/12/23, at approximately 11:30 a.m., located at the Gilpin County Sheriff’s Office, 2960 Dory Hill Road, Black Hawk, unincorporated Gilpin County, an investigator assisted an officer with Colorado Parks and Wildlife in preliminary testing of suspected drugs.
On 6/12/23, at approximately 2:02 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to the Gilpin County Sheriff`s Office on a report of fraud.
On 6/14/23, at approximately 9:53 a.m., a Gilpin County deputy was dispatched to 2960 Dory Hill Road, Black Hawk, unincorporated Gilpin County. In reference to an alleged fraud. A report was completed later.
On 6/14/23, at approximately 2 p.m., a Gilpin County deputy responded to 1801 Dory Hill Road. Black Hawk, unincorporated Gilpin County, in reference to a Certified VIN Inspection.
On 6/10/23, at approximately 3:35 p.m., a Gilpin County corporal was performing his assigned duties at the Gilpin County Detentions Center, located at 2960 Dory Hill Road., Black Hawk. At this time, he was getting a male work release inmate his work clothes and ready to leave the facility for work. During this time another inmate who was being held in Holding 4 was using the rolling phone that is used for inmates being housed in holding cells. The male inmate being housed in Holding 4 pulled the power cord out of the wall and pulled the cord into his cell through an open food port used to hand inmates food. Once the end of the power cord was pulled into his holding cell the male inmate broke off what would later be discovered to be the prongs to the power cord and visually showed the corporal that he had a foreign object in his hand and then proceeded to swallow the aforementioned foreign object.
The inmate then made a motion on his left arm with his right hand. The corporal couldn't tell if the male inmate had an object in his right hand that could be used to cause harm with so the corporal unholstered his taser and pointed it at the male inmate’s torso and the corporal ordered the male inmate to show his hands. There was nothing found in the inmates hands, the corporal then ordered the inmate to have a seat on his bed. The inmate was immediately evaluated by the on-duty nurse in the jail and it was decided that the male inmate who swallowed the foreign objects should be taken to a hospital to be evaluated by emergency hospital staff about this medical incident. The male inmate was then transported by Gilpin County Ambulance and followed by a patrol deputy to the hospital without incident. The patrol deputy was relieved by a detentions deputy a few hours later to sit with the inmate. The male inmate was evaluated and cleared to come back to the jail a few hours later and was transported back to the jail by the detentions deputy without incident.
On 6/15/23, at approximately 7:45 a.m., Gilpin deputies assigned to the Clear Creek County Combined S.W.A.T. team executed a search warrant at the 2900 block of Riverside Drive, Idaho Springs, Clear Creek County.
On 6/16/23, at approximately 9:28 a.m., a deputy was dispatched to 562 Gregory Street, Central City, on the report of criminal mischief on a vehicle. A report was taken, no suspects were located.
On 6/17/23, at approximately 10:23 p.m., a deputy conducted a traffic stop and took the driver into custody for the investigation of driving under the influence.
On 6/18/23, at approximately 2:25 p.m., deputies responded to the Red Dolly Casino, 530 Gregory Street, Central City, on the report of a cold hit and run. A report was taken.
On 6/19/23, a male was arrested by deputies for outstanding warrants.
On 6/21/23, at approximately 10:40 a.m., a Gilpin County deputy arrested a male party on a warrant at 240 Main Street, Black Hawk.
On 6/22/23, at approximately 4:36 p.m., deputies were dispatched to 1351 Highway 119, unincorporated Gilpin County, in reference to a suspicious person. A report was taken.
On 6/23/23, at approximately 12:20 p.m., a deputy was dispatched to an intoxicated party located in the area of 5312 Highway 119, Black Hawk. A report was completed.
On 6/23/23, at approximately 6:04 p.m., a deputy responded to the report of a motor vehicle accident located in the 100 block of Casey Street, Central City. A report was taken.
On 6/24/23, at approximately 3:40 p.m., deputies responded, emergent, to the
report of a disturbance in progress located in the 3000 block of Gamble Gulch Road,
unincorporated Gilpin County. A report was taken.
On 6/24/23, packages were stolen on Coyote Circle, deputies took a report.
On 6/25/23, a male was arrested for DUI.
On 6/25/23, at 12:49 a.m., deputies responded to the Columbine OHV Staging Area, unincorporated Gilpin County, on the report of an OHV accident involving injuries. A report was completed.
On 6/25/23, at approximately 2:57 p.m., a deputy took a phone report of people throwing rocks at vehicles and a damaged vehicle. A report was taken and no suspects were found.
On 6/26/23, at approximately 10:20 a.m., a Gilpin County deputy arrested a male party at 102 Main Street on two warrants, along with possession of controlled substance, and possession of a financial device.
On 6/26/23, at approximately 5:49 p.m., a deputy observed a black Ford Taurus traveling at a high rate of speed in the area of mile marker 7 on the Central City Parkway, the vehicle's estimated speed at 50 MPH. Radar measured and locked the vehicle speed using at 57 MPH in a 35 MPH zone and a summons was issued.
On 6/27/23, an offender came to the jail to get court ordered fingerprints. They ran a background history and found a warrant. An arrest was made.
On 6/28/23, at approximately 12 p.m., a Gilpin County deputy dispatched a deer that was hit by a car at approximately mile marker 11.5 on Highway 119, Black Hawk.
On 6/28/23, at approximately 11:45 a.m., two Gilpin deputies made contact with a male party in the lobby of the sheriff's office who stated they were turning themselves in on a warrant. Gilpin Dispatch discovered the male party had four warrants total. The male party was brought into the Gilpin County Jail and booked in without incident.
On 6/29/23, at approximately 2:15 p.m., a Gilpin deputy took a report of possible fraud at 425 Spring Street, Central City.
On 6/30/23, at approximately 8:35 a.m., deputies attempted to locate a male party with multiple warrants at 321 Gregory Street, Central City. The male party was located and arrested and booked into the Gilpin County Jail on the warrants and new charges.
On 6/30/23, at approximately 4:58 p.m., a Gilpin County deputy responded to the 100 block of Wallens Place for a civil issue. A female party was arrested on a warrant.
