Gilpin County Sheriff reports: February 2023

On 2/1/23, at approximately 9:54 a.m., a report was taken by a deputy for suspicion of theft involving license plates. There is no suspect information at this time.

On 2/1/23, at approximately 10:12 p.m., a Gilpin County deputy responded to a motor vehicle accident in the 3200 block of Highway 119. A male party was arrested for DUI.

On 2/1/23, at approximately 11:34 p.m., deputies were dispatched to Meadow Way, City of Black Hawk, Gilpin County, in reference to a disturbance and a report was taken.

On 2/2/23, at approximately 11:25 a.m., a Gilpin County deputy was dispatched to the 2200 block of Missouri Gulch Road, Black Hawk, unincorporated Gilpin County, in reference to a motorist assist, an arrest warrant was discovered. A male party was arrested.

On 2/2/23, a deputy took a report from a resident who wanted to report a violation of a protection order.

On 2/2/23, a deputy was dispatched to give a courtesy ride to a party from Black Hawk to Gilpin County Courts to pay a fine. The deputy spoke with the party who said they needed to pay their fine for missing court. The deputy then cleared the party and found two active warrants.  The party was arrested on the warrants. No further action was taken.

On 2/5/23, at approximately 12:31 p.m.,  a deputy  was dispatched to a disturbance in progress in the area of 4000 Central City Parkway. An arrest was made and a report was completed.

On 2/6/23, at approximately 9:50 a.m., an active, valid warrant was discovered for a person in the court lobby. The person was arrested and processed on the warrant.

On 2/6/23, at approximately 3:32 p.m., a deputy towed an abandoned vehicle in the 1000 block of Upper Apex Road, Central City. A report was taken.

On 2/6/23, at approximately 4:55 p.m., an active, valid warrant was discovered for a person in custody at the Gilpin County Detention Facility. The person was arrested and processed on the warrant.

On 2/6/23, a male was pulled over for having no rear license plates on his vehicle. The subject was arrested for his felony warrants.

On 2/7/23, at approximately 1:42 a.m., a deputy wrote a proof of service and a summons to a male driver on Highway 119 at mile marker 6 Highway 119, Black Hawk.

On 2/7/23, at approximately 9:26 a.m., a deputy was dispatched to the Gilpin County Human Service located at 15193 Highway 119, Black Hawk, on a report of a cold assault. A report was completed.

On 2/7/23, at approximately 12:20 p.m., Gilpin County deputies were dispatched to 500 Central City Parkway, Central City, Clear Creek County, in reference to a Motor Vehicle Accident with possible injury. A report was completed later.

On 2/8/23, at approximately 6:17 p.m., deputies were dispatched to the Grand Z Casino in Central City in reference to fraud. A report was taken.

On 2/9/23, at approximately 7:07 p.m., deputies were dispatched to 401 Main Street, Black Hawk, in reference to a found property and a report was taken.

On 2/10/23, a deputy completed a certified VIN inspection.

On 2/10/23, a patrol deputy conducted a traffic stop in the 6500 block of the Central City Parkway. A summons was issued and a report was completed.

On 2/10/23, at approximately 4:16 p.m., deputies responded to the report of a suicidal party at the Gold Mountain Village Apartments, which are located at 440 Powder Run Drive, Central City. A report was taken.

On 2/10/23, at approximately 10:21 p.m., a Gilpin County deputy conducted a traffic stop and a male party was arrested for driving under the influence.

On 2/11/23, it was reported to the Gilpin County Sheriff's Department that a male had doused himself in lighter fluid and was threatening to light himself on fire. Deputies arrived on scene and took the male into custody without issue. The male was transported to the hospital.

On 2/12/23, at approximately 2:22 p.m., deputies responded to the 400 block of Bobtail Hill Circle, Central City, on the report of a deceased individual. A deceased individual was located.  A report was taken.

On 2/12/23, at approximately 3:23 p.m., a deputy responded to the report of found property in the area of the Gold Mountain Village Apartments, Central City. A report was taken.

On 2/12/23, at 6:16 p.m., deputies responded to the 400 block of Badger Road, unincorporated Gilpin County, on the report of a disturbance. After an investigation, a male was arrested for violating a protection order and taken to jail.

On 2/13/23, at approximately 3:21 p.m., a deputy responded to the report of a violation of a protection order located in the area of mile marker 10.5 Highway 119, unincorporated Gilpin County. A report was taken.

On 2/13/23, at 5:59 p.m., a citizen brought a wallet to the Gilpin County Sheriff`s Office that he found in the Dory Lakes subdivision, which is located in unincorporated Gilpin County. An attempt was made to contact the owner. The wallet was later booked into property for safekeeping.

On 2/14/23, at approximately 12:09 p.m., an active, valid warrant was discovered for a person in the court lobby. The person was arrested and processed on the warrant.

On 2/14/23, at approximately 9:50 p.m., deputies were dispatched to Old Stage Coach Road, Rollinsville, in reference to a disturbance. A report was taken.

On 2/15/23, at approximately 12:30 a.m., a Gilpin County deputy assisted with a single vehicle accident at mile marker 7.2 on the Central City Parkway.

On 2/15/23, at approximately 7:06 a.m., a Gilpin County deputy was dispatched to Bald Mountain Road, Central City, in reference to a death investigation. A report was completed later.

On 2/15/23, an investigator reviewed a faxed notification for an out of state warrant and determined no entries yet existed in NCIC to authorize a local arrest.

On 2/15/23, at approximately 7:47 p.m., a Gilpin County deputy arrested a male party for DUI around mile marker 11.5 on Highway 119.

On 2/16/23, a deputy responded to a motor vehicle accident on the Central City Parkway. A report was made.

On 2/17/23, a deputy took a sexual assault report. The case is under investigation.

On 2/17/23, at approximately 9:44 p.m., Gilpin County deputies responded to a motor vehicle accident at mile marker .7 on the Central City Parkway. A female driver was arrested for driving under the influence.

On 2/18/23, at approximately 3:30 p.m., a female turned herself in on a CICJIS warrant. A deputy booked her in and released her at approximately 4:27 p.m.

On 2/18/23, at approximately 3:57 p.m., a traffic stop was conducted and a summons was issued.

On 2/20/23, a male violated a protection order.

On 2/21/23, at approximately 10:25 a.m., a Gilpin County Sheriff's Office deputy spoke with a female who reported her ex-boy friend had been sending nude photographs of her to her friends.

On 2/22/23, at approximately 8:52 a.m., Gilpin County deputies were dispatched to the Gilpin County School at 10595 Highway 119, unincorporated Gilpin County, in reference to an alleged armed person attempting to gain entry to the school. A report was completed later.

On 2/22/23, at approximately 5:03 p.m., deputies were dispatched to Woodbine Place, City of Golden, Gilpin County, in reference to a disturbance. A report was taken.

On 2/22/23, at approximately 8:05 p.m., deputies were dispatched to 120 Main Street, Central City, in reference to an attempt to locate. The party was located, arrested and a report was completed.

On 2/24/23, at approximately 1:30 a.m., a Gilpin County Sheriff's deputy performed a welfare check for a female party in the 14000 block of Highway 119, Black Hawk.

On 2/24/23, at approximately 5:24 p.m., a adult male came to the Gilpin County Sheriff`s
Office to surrender himself on a warrant. After identifying the male and confirming that he, in fact, had an active Gilpin County warrant, the male party was placed under arrest and taken to the jail for processing.

On 2/25/23, in the early morning hours, deputies responded to the Lodge Casino in order to help Colorado State Gaming officers take a female with 10 outstanding warrants for her arrest into custody. After a brief foot pursuit the female was taken into custody in the Dakota Parking Lots.

On 2/25/23, at approximately 12:41 p.m., a deputy responded to the 500 block of Old Hughesville Road, Black Hawk, on a civil issue. A report was taken.

Between 2/25/23, at 3:31 p.m. and 2/26/23, at 1:59 a.m. a motorcycle was stolen from the apartment complexes in Central City. The vehicle was entered into law enforcement databases as a stolen vehicle.

On 2/26/23, at approximately 7:45 a.m., deputies, Timberline Fire, and Gilpin Ambulance Authority responded to the 2400 block of Highway 72, Black Hawk, on a welfare check. A subject was transported to the hospital by ambulance.

On 2/28/23, a deputy assisted a deputy coroner with property from a suicide. The property was logged into evidence for safekeeping. A report was made.

On 2/28/23, at approximately 6:38 p.m., deputies were dispatched to the 2000 block of Dory Hill Road, Black Hawk, in reference to a criminal mischief. A report was taken.
