A hit Nederdays event returns: Dancers of all ages, above, gathered on 1st Street to get into the rhythm of the night. Below, Nederland’s funkiest faction of fashionable disco fanatics representing on the dance floor. PHOTOS BY CHRISTOPHER KELLEY[/caption]
On the night of Friday, July 14, as the blue light of dusk covered 1st Street in Nederland, denizens donned in sparkling polyester and afro wigs descended upon the corner of 1st and Snyder, ready to boogie down to the beats provided by Glipish, B-Random, Jelli DJ Blue & GODLAZER, and DJ Mista.Cal.
The Silent Disco, presented by Igadi as a free event for all ages, featured three DJs spinning at once, food provided by Kaleidoscope Kitchen and Matteo’s Crepes, and beer served by Busey Brews, with the proceeds from food and beer sales benefiting the Nederland Area Seniors.
One of Nederland’s favorite budtenders, Nico Martinez, wowed the audience with his fire spinning skills, before completely blowing everyone away with his amazing fire-breathing routine, lighting up the night sky and making the smiles on the dancer’s faces grow even wider.
