Kelly Anz, a 58-year old woman, died at Eldora Mountain Ski Resort on Sunday, April 2, 2023, after falling on a ski run and sliding into a tree.
Boulder County Sheriff’s Office and Boulder County Coroner’s Office are investigating the manner of death, though investigators do not suspect any wrongdoing at this time.
The Texas woman was attempting to ski down the black diamond run Muleshoe when she fell. Anz, after falling, continued to slide down the run until striking the tree.
Friends and family of Anz found her directly after the accident. She was not breathing. They then called 911 while attempting CPR. The call went out at approximately 9:45 a.m. Eldora Ski Patrol, Nederland Fire Department, MedEvac Air Ambulance, and American Medical Response all responded expediently to the site of the accident. Unfortunately Anz was unresponsive and, after many revival attempts, was pronounced dead at Eldora’s first aid station.
The Boulder County Coroner’s Office is still investigating the matter and has yet to release details about the cause and manner of the woman’s death.
